guys i think the ring and contact in the steering wheel are dirty/broke. what is the best way to remove the cover without upsetting the airbag. I have a 1999 100hlx 16v. cheers

1st check the horn itself isn't broken.

Get two wires, run one wire from +ve on your battery and one wire from the -ve. Then touch the contacts on the horn.

If nothing then get a new horn.

If you sit in your car and press the horn do you hear a faint click noise as you press the airbag on and off several times?

Try my 1st suggestion though.

re horn

hi guys, ive have put my meter on the wires and am not recieving any supply to the horn. I've tested the horn for resistance and it looks ok. Really what i need to know is...the 2 screws on the steering wheel hub, at the back of the horn cover...will these release the horn cover itself so i can check the ring. I do hear i clicking sound.

ps...guys for n.ireland are always horny lol

Re: re horn

If U hear the clicking sound, than all is OK on the steering wheel. Do what Joske sad, connect the horn whit live wires, the measuring isnt always right
