hi all , ducato 1989 just sorting the steering wheel out to get it fitted however I think I'm missing so bits,, can get the horn to work from the two pins underneath the steering wheel but won't work when the wheel is on , am I missing something that goes into the two holes in the picture to connect to the wheel cover

Does ePER break that down into parts? 🤔

On a 1990 FIAT, I had a worn wheel.. Wouldn't ground the horn at
"straight ahead" position.. So failed MOT 😔

I flipped the wheel 180 degrees, passed every time 👍
not sure I did try but just keeps saying no part found

It is so long since I dismantled a horn push, that I am approaching this problem from first principles. The followihg are some of my thoughts.

What precise connection was made in order to operate the horn? Either point to earth (expected), or a link between the two contacts?

Two contact points are marked in the first photo. These are located in what I assume is, the wheel fixing nut recess. Is it possible that what we are seeing here is a horn ring?

On the second photo, two different contacts are indicated on the underside of the button, but these are close to two of the button springs, so will not line up with the location indicated in the first photo. Further adjacent to the third spring is another contact or clip? which is part of the "T" shaped brass part, and which will engage with a similar part at the upper side of the nut recess. Is this an earth connection.

I note that the steering wheel nut has not been fitted. Perhaps the horn may work if the nut was fitted so as to ensure that the wheel was held firmly?

My hypothesis is that the contact points may be those two adjacent two the springs. Are these parts on the wheel, spring loaded to accommodate over travel of the button?

In conclusion perhaps more testing and information would help.

Further to the above, I now see that a similar original post has been placed on the MH Facts forum, but with one or more different photos. If tomj25 were to confer with his alto ego, and post all photos in here, then it may be possible to resolve his problem.
