tried using the search function but couldnt find anything relevent so i'm asking instead :)

has anyone got/tried/tested a hormann exhaust? seen them for sale on www.tuningshop.co.uk as well as a group a system, which is un-branded?

if anyone has any useful information on them can they please post it on here as i'd like the opinion. i want a proper competition/motorsport exhaust for my cinq. had a supersprint system fitted to my 106 XSi which was immense and completely changed the way it drove compared to what was on it. sounded the tits too rasping and popping all day long.

i want the same noise/performance gain as that basically and not really a fan of all these 'performance exhausts' sold on the web. a proper tried and tested exhaust is what i'm after.

any help is MUCH appreciated.

oh one last thing what is a good internal bore size for an 1108/1242 cinq?

If you dont like off the shelf kits, have you thought of going custom? You can have what you want then

Sort out the induction and you would see increases in performance using a custom system
 
I've never heard of the hormann exhaust. I'd vote CSC or Supersprint.

I'm currently running a CSC manifold, janspeed mid pipe and a longlife custom backbox, love the setup, tried other system and I feel my current setup is best for me.
I've had a full janspeed system, too quiet and Mani looked gash being all rusty. Fixed a supersprint mani that had cracked in several places, I think the csc mani is the best.
Had powerflow, janspeed, Remus, supersprint and peco backboxes. Still think me longlife custom one gives the best sound

i'd rather have a system that is designed with performance being the study area than noise. don't get me wrong i love a good sounding exhaust. i know from experience powerflow boxes are restrictive and aren't particularly good metal. thats why i don't really want to go custom. i had a custom built aero turbine system made for my clio 182, absolutely amazing quality and sound, also helped the car rev easier or so it sounded (pics and video in the links).

that system was the dogs danglies, but they are by no means cheap!

as mentioned i have a supersprint race system on my 106 XSi and that, looks, and sounds how i want and made a huge difference to the way the car drove and pulled (again pics underneath).

i'm thinking of using this back box on my cinq, but would a 2" bore be too big for an 1108/1242 (when it gets converted)?

motorsport is my thing, no street stuff really. hence my reasoning for wanting a competition/motorsport exhaust system like a group n system.

i know supersprint are regarded as one of the best exhausts out there and i'll stick buy that as they are bloody good. also had a supersprint 421 mani on my mk2 golf gti 8v and it was a work of art, much better than the cheap nasty options that snap and rust!

Snap and rust..... Supersprint, ask arc;)
They can snap and rust, I've seen and fixed one l.

1.75" is recomended by Mr GC for the bore,
