i found this info elsewhere, sounds dodgy to me :(

I use a synthetic as well but not selenia.
I always drain out old oil remove oil filter and wash it in petrol replace filter + drain plug then flush engine, i use 50% petrol 50% cheep 20/50 oil for this, i remove plug leads and turn engine over, i then drain out the flush and let it drain over night, next day i put on new filter + oil. my oil then stays looking like new untill next change.

Oh come on, its getting dull around here! I want a laugh!

Craig, do I have to give an opinion on that engine flush? I'm sure you know perfectly well what I will say.

Re: Re: Re: homemade engine flush, good idea?

add sand to get a satin finish?

Re: Re: Re: Re: homemade engine flush, good idea?

You can't beat Fairy Liquid followed by Domestos.
If you want a finely polished finish, Brasso is just ace. PMSL

I tried that but I could not stop the bubbles coming out of the dipstick hole.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: homemade engine flush, good idea?

But why would you want them to stop?
Give the local young-uns a treat!

:)

The built a shopping centre in the middle of my town about 12 years ago, complete with a fountain. Within about a week someone had lobbed a bottle of washing up liquid into it. Bubbles were EVERYWHERE!! It was really very funny to see.

It even made the local news! 15ft diameter fountain with a 10ft tall mound of soapy suds gently swaying in the breeze.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: homemade engine flush, good idea?

i seen something like that on telly.
i was surprised it only took one bottle of washing up liquid to do it.

Remember the ads, fairy suds last longer!

Tom,

That fairy liquid foutain wasn't at the Galleria in Hatfield by any chance? That happened there when I was at Uni - would have been about 12 years ago. Just curious!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: homemade engine flush, good idea?

If there is one thing in life guaranteed its this

Council build a fountain in centre of town

locals fill it full of bubbles

any town any county

tee hee

bubbles

Bubbles in fountains are good, But dont do it when fish are in there, poor blighters.
No one ever cares about little defenceless fish.

I used to work in a plumbers merchants.
We had a spa bath in the showroom.
We used to sell a full range of bathroom requisites, including bubble bath!
Get the picture?

Tom, you don't live in Plymouth by chance do you?

Rich, what year were you at Hatfield?

Hey Rich, I did Product Design there, left in '97 I think. Not sure about the Galleria, but they definately did it at the shopping centre in Welwyn Garden City. I was working in a sports shop there at the time. Most amusing.
