So, she may have passed her MOT but Shabash!s back box is looking seriously tatty. So, I'm after some advice regarding stainless steel exhausts.

Put simply, I have always said that if the OE exhaust was to fail I only want to fit 1 exhaust and never have to worry about it again. Given that the centre and back box for the HGT is £204 I feel I might as well go stainless.

I have seen the Superspint on Powerfiat but are there any other options?
How much has your insurance been affected when converting to stainless?
Are they really going to outlast the car?

Cheers all.

Non OE Exhausts for the Fiat Bravo HGT are about £120 starting price. Where you get £200+ from??? Fiat!

But i know my insurance said no to an aftermarket exhaust.

Im sorry, but am I going mad or is it possible to buy the whole exhaust system from that link for about 5 quid?

That'll be why it's so cheap then.

"£25!! Him down the road is selling them for a tenner but he has none"
"Well mine are a tenner when I'm out of stock"
"OK. I'll come back when you have none!"

Its just rubber mountings mate, the price is at the top but sadly its N/A.

The site is www.buybyparts.co.uk

sorry to tell ya Al but the supersprint is not stainless steal! its mild, i believe...probably last longer then you own her but not for ever!

i think you can only get a stainless for the hgt if you go to powerflow or simuliar and get a custom one made! i have a powerflow on mine and i am really impressed with it! but better quality then other powerflows i have owned on other cars (1.8 bravo included!) they are cheaper then they used to and the steal is a better quality now aswell!

there is one in ipswich and one in harlow if you are interested...mine is from st albans!

if there is a meet anytime soon i will let you hear her!

there are loads of custom places that will do it, i got a price from ascar exhausts in sheffield (http://www.exhaust-uk.com) or (http://www.exhaustsuk.co.uk) for a direct replacement but in stainless with a 25yr warrenty, would have cost about £270 and i got to chose a tail pipe.

Insurance company cocked that up, the insurance company i was with would not insure me with an aftermarket exhaust even though it did not alter the performance of the car, and to change to an insurance company that would was going to put my annual premium up from £400 to £900.

that was all through one broker though, probably have got it cheaper if i'd shopped around.

others would be;

www.exhaustuk.co.uk
http://www.powerflow.uk.com/

also look in max power, there will be exhaust adverts in there for propper exhausts

Modding again Al?

http://www.blueflameperformance.com/

Got mine especially made there. Worth the trip. Remember Si with the black HGT? He popped up last tuesday for a full system for his skoda. popped in ere for a brew too alll the way from Reading :)

powerflow is ****. they dont know **** all. and they go rusty colour instantly

go to the one is cheffield ;) i hear there amazing. use a special type of stainles steel that dont go rusty colour and i think u still get a life time garrentie

on my powerflow, it was only the pipes that list their shiny-ness. the boxes, and of course tailpipe stayed lovely n shiny

Not modding Mr Wim simply don't want to have to change the exhaust ever again.

Will have a look at those links and check out what the (totally useless) Tesco Insurance say.

Powerflow is OK if you're not doing motorway mileage otherwise you will permanently lose some of your hearing... and the MOST important thing is to go to a decent fitter that's been recommended.

Supersprint as far as I knew are stainless pipes and end pieces but Aluminium plated steel for the boxes themselves.

I have a Powerflow... If I was buying again it would be a Supersprint.

Is it standard Mr Ozric? You will find the answer is no. Therefore you are modifying, lol

What next? Tesco shopping trolley handles?
