hlx rear window

Alright guys here comes the questions again, does anyone know how to remove a rear windscreen from a bravo? the reason being is ive just got a hgt spoiler from the scrappie for a £10 then find out i need the rear screen, had a brief look at mine and cant work out how it comes out cus rubbers are internal? anyone done it b4 now or got an idea?

I think you have to change the entire bootlid, I know for a fact you do with the HLX spoiler, i presume it is the same with the HGT.

the whole bootlid? what the f**k is it not possible to just remove the window? im gettin it all sprayed and fitted by my m8 who owns a bodyshop he said he will remove my old screen and fit the new one. surely that aint possible so what happens if some pr**k smashes it? stupid design if thats the case?
anyone else got any ideas?

The screen can be changed, but you'll have to take it to Autowindsreens or alike - they have the suction removal tools.

Some tool smashed the rear screen in my Trofeo and it was replaced. Needless to say it leaked and had to go back three times before it was cured.

so if i pushed it out with my feet or alike then got sum 1 to support it on the other side it would come out no probs?

dont be daft! that would probaly smash and cut your legs and feet to bits! you need a hlx/hgt rear screen with the holes then go to like sumone said autowindcreens and they will remove the glass for you! do it professionally dont try and bodge it yourself!

yer i know i just ment push it out but the screen is in a scrappie so i just need to remove it and the place that is spraying loadsa bits on my car n fittin the spoiler will re fit the screen into my car and take out the old one so what i need a windscreen guy to take it out for me?

you dont need new screen, you can just bond HGT spoiler with sikaflex.

Have you done the bonding or know who has?

I'm just wondering at which points on the spoiler do you bond it?

how can you bond it on there are 3 or 4 bolts sticking out of it and where r ya ment to bond it on anyone done it before?

I went through the window swap thing with AutoWindscreens and it isn't that easy. To remove it they use something similar to cheese wire to cut the trim around the glass off. However, to put it back on the new widscreen comes with the trim pre-attached which they use to bond it to the car. To remove an old screen with the trim attached to be re-used would apparently be near impossible.

If someone was to visciously break your rear windscreen you could claim on your insurance for a new screen for the �50 glass excess or whatever it was on your policy, if you were to accidentally tell them you have a HLX they would order the wrong screen (with holes in)

oh rite wat a bummer im not fully comp insurance so ill have to buy the screen itself,i got one of them wire things and a windscreen blade what they use. they left it in my car lol. so ill give it a go or just buy the whole rear end and smooth it all off and do it that way then just try drilling my old screen.
