Grande Punto Hinksy's Orange T-jet.

Already got plans to meet again she knows more about cars than me ;/ lol.

Anyway, busy day today!!.. thought while the sun was shining and im off work im gonna make the effort to improve my car a bit, and boy did it go well
refurbed my alloys for less than £40!!.
Heres a little guide on what i did.

Starting my obtaining my little kit that i sorted out



Then, keyed the alloys with some emery cloth and scotch bright and also filed some of the major curbed areas down smooth



Then lined a pack of cards up tucked in-between the alloy and the tyre, fitted perfectly and primer'd up the outside and inside of the wheel (had to do one at a time ;'( )



Then after the primer had dryed gave it a good coat of gloss black paint inside and out again.



Once i was happy everywhere was covered in black and was at least touch dry, i gave it a nice shiny coat of lacquer


And of course to add to the detail i gave them a good coating of tyre shine to make them look pretty, and also painted the callipers so they didnt look rusty


Then refitted the wheels back on to the car and i must say, pictures dont do it justice but for under £40 these look absolutely outstanding on caribbean orange

From stock. To hot! In one week. Loving it mate, doing a good job keep it up. Think major mods needed are abarth heads. Will look beast then the tail lights that puntobooth has!

As for the boot, i was thinking maybe a decent size'd 'DC' (dc shoes) sticker on the right at about 45 degrees with tips touching the sides, hard to explain .
Yeah, i was thinking about a black roof, gonna see how it looks on photoshop once i get my windows tinted.

Just one thing as someone pointed out to me, do you plan on taking the 'design guigaro' (or whatever it says) off? Its only small but thought id point out

I took the door protectors off aswell...only to reveal some paint on the edge that had come off

Love it though mate. Love orange.

Hey sam, thanks for the coment .
Yeah i think i will take that little badge off, just to make it look a bit smoother, and as for the door protectors.. i put them on the day i got it, as you can see my drive way is very narrow, and no chance of getting out without it hitting the wall, the last punto's door was destroyed at the edges from it, dont wanna risk this one having the same damage.

And i got it with the boot like that i might put some sort of badge on it tho, looks a bit plain, either that or a nice sticker to liven it up.

Jack, it took around 6 hours to do all 4 wheels since i had to do them one at a time, but it was well worth the effort

Car's looking great! Brilliant job on the alloys. Definitely get some tinted side repeaters and buy some lamin-x film to smoke your back lights.

I think the boot looks great without a sticker to be honest, I like the whole 'clean' look, really suits a bright colour like orange

Speaking of which, I saw a corsa b earlier that had them all way down the door.....lol

looks good, you just need more black on it

i'd suggest doing the roof like puntobooth said, and maybe the mirror caps as well. then some abarth lights would finish it off nicely.

also, have you considered vinyling your front grille? would suit it now with the black wheels

soo plans so far that im interested in,
My tail lights are defiantly been tinted should be soonish.
Abarth headlights are gonna go in when i can find a set cheapish.
i was hoping to do the vinyl grill this weekend but couldnt get any material soon enough but it is on the list to try out, also i may get the roof done by someone if i like how it looks on a few photoshops.
Arent sure about mirror caps tho, makes the car look really thin and tall because the black fades them out and makes them look invisible against the orange.
Need to find some nice lowering springs too! no more than 40mm tho :/

Plans are sounding good mate think the roof and the grill vinyl is needed now your having the whole orange/black theme
And eibach sportlines are the lowering springs you want mate. Not too over the top but will make your car fit nice and snug around the alloys

Arent 100% sure on the engine mods yet loocas, finishing the aesthetics first .

Finally finished tonight after 3 hours, New abarth headlights are fitted, and very dark tinted rear lights, cars looking even meaner now.
should be getting a new twin exhaust/backbox fitted on thursday too! cant wait. will post some pictures up tomorrow of the lights.

Well, as promised here are some photos from what i got up to yesterday Abarth headlights fitted and blacked out rear lights.

These two are of the standard lights before i changed them.



one with everything removed so i can change them (my springs dropped so much i could take the wheel arch out without removing the wheels haha! it seriously needs some new springs on it -.-)



Anyway, the finished product. Im very happy with the results, car looks even meaner now just need tinted windows to match! will be happening in the next week or so hopefully

Abarths' make a massive difference.
Undecided on the rears though. Can't decided whether I like 'em or not.

Thanks guys the rears have been sprayed, if you compare them with the pic of before tinted you can see how much difference it makes, does look better i think, plus ill be having tinted windows so it'll match once its all done, just waiting for monies :bang:
