OK, I tried it in the car park at work and I am rather impressed! No need for a Sunday morning and I am now endlessly enlightened Ta all.

T'is very handy for help with steep hill starts

But can be a pain in the ar*e when your trying to pull out of a junction onto a busy mainroad and the junctions on an incline

Try as I suggested, has to be a hill not just a tiny slope, you'll know when its engaged as the car wont roll back for a few seconds when you take your foot off the brake pedal

5 Degrees I think the manual said - works forwards AND backwards too! (I noticed yesterday on a downhill slope while parallel parking )
