Reading through the manual i noticed there is a small 'hidden document compartment' at the top of the glove box/shelf.

Has anyone managed to open it? I know it sounds silly but i can't work out how it opens. I'm too worried to force it in case i break something.
:)

Thanks for the fast reply. I'll try again later to see if it opens. I just didnt want to force it.:)

I keep my sat nav in mine, on the basis that if most 500 owners find it (a) difficult to find, and (b) difficult to open, your average Joe Thug will stand no chance ;)

1 Put your fingers behind the recessed catch.
2 Pull your fingers towards you.
3 Lower the lid.

Ours holds a CD library thingy - perfectly.

It feels like mines been super glued in lol, ive tried that and its not budging but she's going back to fiat tomorrow to have a cat 1 alarm fitted as i heard to standard one is rubbish, and to have her Italian stripes fitted :) So i'll ask one of them about it.

Out of curiosity would you mind sharing how much you are paying for these?

I'm rather partial, and although Mrs Jingo would have to be consulted, I'm rather tempted by the side-stripes myself :)

It doesn't have one as standard. Tbh I wouldn't bother with an alarm. Does anyone actually look outside when an alarm goes off these days?

Even if they do look outside, I'd be very (pleasantly) suprised if they did anything about it!

My insurance company said if i fitted an alarm to it though id get a discount, and im still in the young drivers at risk category for another 2 years so i need all the discounts i can get lol.

and i was gonna buy them from fiat but they wanted £210 for them fitted but i saw some on genuine fiat ones on ebay brand new never even been opened for £14.99 current bid and ended up getting them for £21 and fiat said it will be the price of one hours labour to fit them how ever much that is all together its £330 for the alarm fitted and the stripes fitted.

my barclaycards gonna feel it tomorrow

Edit: so my insurance if i get it fitted is coming down from £838 fully comp to £605 fully comp with elephant

The alarm pays for itself then really in premium reduction - and will continue to do so :)

Those stripes seem a bit steep though for a personal whim - perhaps I'll treat the little white bug next year :p

Yeah i know i bet they dont even cost £20 to make, thats why i went trawling ebay for fiat 500 stuff and came across them. i was like bonus i'll take a £185 saving any day,

and yeah the alarms already pretty much paid for itself. :slayer:

hi, i found this the other day just by chance. there is a sort of clip to release it at the top of the glove box on the inside. in order to release it u need to pull it from the very top of the clip. in other words get ur fingers as far up as u can and it unclips easy (i know it sounds dodgy ha)

Will check this out tomorrow. Very excited about it, told the boyfriend and he thinks I'm stupid. Doesn't appreciate that I may never have found this! Good old FF...
