hi everyone

just thought i would introduce myself i am daniel millington from manchester and am 20 years i have recently purchased my first proper car its a fiat bravo 1.6 16v hlx in dark metalic blue on a 99(i think) v reg with 32000 on the clock and set me back just under 5k with a years warranty m.o.t. and 6 months tax. good price???? am looking to sort it out in a big way in terms of styling only got as far as installing a qulity sony head unit with a 10 disc changer does anyone else find a horrible rattle in the doors when there is a lot of base going through the speakers??? and any tips on how to get rid of the rattling sunroof and the rattling dashboard that only seems to rattle whilst excelerating rapidly through 3 to 5000 revs????

Hello and congratulations on buying a Bravo.

For the doors try using some sound deadening material like Dynamat or brown bread. You local car audio shop should be able to sort you out.

As for the dash can't really help, you'll just have to try and pinpoint each rattle and find something to stop it. A piece of foam or more Dynamat.

Hi Danniel, I'm not to far from you live in mighty bolton, as i dont know any other bravo owners in the area would be nice to have some one to giggle with lol. i have a 1.6 16v sx in enamel red, no mods yet due to funds but kenwood headunit 10 disc changer, also suffer from all those rattle fancy chatting give us an email cheers sy

Didn't realise!! Awww new friends well kinda lol. My Bravo looks plain apart from being debadged and the total enclosure alarm it basicaly is standard, if any of you have any ideas as to what i can do to improve it it would be fantastic, i am and gong tobe on a tight budget for a few months though

i was wondering about that sound deadening stuff as far as the dash is concerned it isnt in a placs where i can pin point it it is coming from the left hand side above the glove box

although i am from manchester i actually live in delph which is a small village in the hills of saddleworth moor which is a great venue for cruising and even better for racing and trying out any new mods so once the dough starts flowing and the mods start piling on we will have to get together and thrash it out. so whats the difference between your 1.6 sx and my 1.6hlx

You might want to try taking the glovebox out and having a look back there.
It's quite easy to do, about 8 cross-head screws to undo.

hi

i got my 1.6sx last june. it's a '98 s plate and has 15k on the clock. i got it from a fiat dealer, i couldnt get any off the price but i got the following:

new alloys + tyres
years mot
service
years tax
new battery
new radio (cos flap broken on old one)

it cost me £4995 which i though was expensive but i guess it's not too bad if you have paid that now on a similar vehicle. it also had the arbath spoiler and fog lights on which i think it has had from new. i thought it a little odd but after getting one i have seen a few sx's with the same thing. was it a special edition one they did or something?

to tell you the truth daniel i have no idea, i hvae no fogs but am in the process of fitting some blue spots either side of my number plate into the bumper, Just had the passenger ring repsrayed where the paint faded when removing the badges,

Front speakers....

Hello mate,

Congrats on getting yourself a quality car. I own a W-reg 100SX and also felt the need to upgrade it slightly. At the moment its just a few cosmetic changes, nothing major...engine etc is still under warrantee so don't want to touch it just yet.

Your front speaker rattle also happened with me but I've managed to cure it. See the post further down titled "Front speakers - a quick tip".
