I am not a typical fiat person. Actually I am heavilly into aircooled VW drag racing, but the machine shop I frequent (Engine Machine Service) was finishing up a motor that i thought was cool. (I am a gear head i guess) So i took a picture, but no one really to share it with that might appreciate this type of motor. So i came over to share here.
My understanding is this is an early 50's 2 liter 8v motor. something not all that common. Hope you enjoy.

Yes it is a fiat motor.
I did a little looking around and sure enough it came in this car.
the story i read is more of a race oriented thing that fiat built just enough to get it ok'd for a GT class back then. So i guess it is pretty rare piece.

Well i have a 1962 ragtop beetle that resembles as much as stock as possible and weights a lot for a vw race car. It is turbo charged and i typically run a 10.90 index with it. (equivalant to NHRA Super Street)

Seriously nice VeeDub mate, i really like it. 10.9 is no shoddy time either, yes can appreciate theres quite a lot of faster ones of the pond (although theres some proper serious ones here too these days) but i think that's be plenty fast enough for me lol.
