Hi Guys

Newbie here. I own a 51 plate Fiat Bravo 100, 1.6 16v.

I did have a Punto GT with 170bhp

If I keep my car my plans are a 20vt transplant over the next 2 years.

I have some questions for all you guys here.

1. Where can I get bonnet lifters from?

2. Do the coupe Brembos fit the Bravo or will I need to get custom brackets built?

3. Will these brakes fit under 16'' 20vt alloys on a bravo?

4. Has anyone here done this conversion on a 1.6 16v?

Thanks guys :D

1). eBay.de

2). Custom brackets needed-Nico has/had some!

3). Yes, this is one of the easiest ways to make thenm fit, many alloys do not allow enough clearance.

4). Yes, Bibzz is currently doing it.

nice one mate, thanks :D

Does anyone know the cost of getting the brackets built for the brakes?

I fancy getting started asap, lol

a bloke called ribzz (not bibzz.lol) is the bloke to talk to, he isnt on here much but he will help next time he is on.

Everything you want to do has been done so no worrys there its just a case of time and money my friend.

i almost gave in a did a 20vt transplant on my hgt last month, but proved too costly as i needed a car asap and the transplant would take me a couple of months at least :(

As stated the problem with the coupe brembos is clearance... as far as i know, the will fit on quite easily with the coupe wheels, but with normal wheels you need spacers etc and it gets quite complicated.

pretty much just repeating what others have said, but hopefully it will make you feel more confident that what you want is possible.

oh and welcom to the forum, hope you hang around!

Cheers for the welcome Paul

No doubt I will be here for lots of time to come..

I was a member of Puntosports for over 2 years so I do tend to stick around after buying a new car.

The brakes are deffo the first things I want done. Prob get myself some coupe rims first and then take it from there. The rims are hard to get though, I was looking for months for a mint set for my Punto but had no luck.

What tyres would the Bravo use on 16's? 195/45 or a wider tyre?

Does anyone do group buys here or anything like that? Sometimes a good thing when something cool comes out.

On puntosports we just got some Plasma dials for the GT's made up in germany. Look ace but its a shame they wont fit the Bravo, lol

you missed the groupe but on the bonet lifters

rbizz's 20vt conversion is finished now he took it out for its first test drive tonight havent heard back form him yet so im guessing its ok and he is stil out scairing the **** out of himself oh and his motor started off as a 100 16v so he the man to chat to if ur gonna do it (just dont keep pestering him tho as he is a busy man. i think he have documented the conversion so watch this space. the best time to bend his ear is at the car shows as he attends pretty much all of them lol)

anyway welcome to the gang and the world of the bravo. you have progressed to the league of finer motorists (only kidding punto peops)

just out of curiosity do you think the bravo feels nicer to drive than the punto?(thats gonna start a row)

Im Driven to Earn, and I Earn to Drive......

The bravo is a nicer car to drive over a distance, it is quiter and I feel more comfy. The Punto is more fun to drive and is good for throwing about.

I think the bravo seriously lacks power though, coming from a 170bhp Punto which beat HGT's all the time I feel my pidley 1.6 16v has no guts.

There is things that **** me off about both cars but at the end of the day there Fiats and as long as you dont expect to much then thee fine.

I agree with you there dude, I miss the go kart-esque driving in the punto compared to the bravo, the bravo is far more refined with a much nicer interior :)
