Firstly,, I must admit that it's not me that owns a Fiat :D . My wife has just become the proud owner of a '98 1.2 Sporting.
My first question is whether there are any parts suppliers similar to Euro Car Parts for BMW etc for Fiats? I run an E36 Beemer and have used Euro Car Parts numerous times as they're great for prices. So far all I've found is shop4carparts.co.uk that does Fiat/Lancia stuff. It's good, but not nearly as comprehensive as ECP.
Second question is "Has anyone else had trouble with the top of the front spring fouling on the spring seat?" When the strut rotates as the steering moves, it seems to stick and then jerk free as teh strut continues to move. It makes an annoying/embarassing clunky boing. I've stripped the entire strut down and cleaned / removed any corrosion that could be causing it, but it still happens now and again :? Starting to get annoyed with it.
Third question. What's this brake pipe recall thingy all about?
Sorry for using my first post as a launching pad for questions but I'll probably be posting quite frequently, I know I do on the BMW forums. I'll probably be getting that MaxP***r manual thing as well! I'm not planning on "Kevving it up" but the manual should provide a few pointers, has anyone bought it?

Dunno about the first two, but they replaced all my brake pipes about a year ago!

Welcome to the site!

Hi, welcome to the site!

Im not too sure about the first two questions, but question 3..the brake pipe recall. Apparently some of the pipes on Mk1 puntos were prone to corrosion. I'd make a trip to your nearest FIAT dealership and ask them to run a recall check on your car (hey, its free!)

Chances are you may need the pipes treated or replaced which, again, is free!

alright mate, for fiat parts theres http://www.desirabury.co.uk but most of their parts aren't far off fiats prices i think. and they're down south so that means delivery only :( which is a pain in the arse.
not heard of the suspension doing that before. probably best to get a new shock and spring.

alright mate welcome to the site, is your wife's car standard?? what colour is it?? the reason behind all my questions will become clear in a couple of days hopefully  i will prob be buying the max power guide thing as there ice one is really good, will let you know what like it is once i buy it!

The wife's car is standard at the moment. I prefer the subtle approach to external mods, whereas my good lady likes it "in yer face" stylee. The colour is Ducale Grey (662/A). Why will everything become clear in a few days?........
