Just to say Hi

I own a Fiat Duccato 2002 (although it is a 2000/20001 engine) 2.8jtd Motorhome:), we are having problems with it at the moment and thought I might get some help on this forum, so here goes:bang:

I was driving along the M6 when I lost power and pulled over onto the hard shoulder, the engine was slightly racing and I had no Excellerator it was just dead, to cut a very long story short, I have had the throttle acctuator changed and it has not cured the problem, we eventually got a diagnostic on it and it has come up with the following codes, but he does not know what they mean.

P0609 Control Module VSS output B

P0190 Fuel Rail Pressure

P0220 Throttle Position Switch, B circuit

P0235 Turbo supercharger boost sensor A circuit

The Mechanic has tested the Fuel Rail Pressure at 450 bar, but is not sure what it should be, he said that if it was too low or too high that could cause the problem.

I hope someone can help me as this has been ongoing for over a week now (we should be on holiday)

hi, and welcome, :)

ask in the DUCATO section - AT the bottom of home page,
several VERY knowledgable people on there, (y)
may do the SEARCH through that section too,

out of interest would you consider the Breakdown cover that takes you on to your booked campsite - then recovers you home at the end of your hols..??, :worship:

to me those are quite different ( unrelated) faults,
so either;
1, you've got a wiring ( earth) fault and it's messing up those sensors,

2, You've got another issue that has compromised these sensors readings,

I'm sure the people on here "in the know" will elaborate :worship::idea:,

who has done the servicing on this vehicle?, how many miles total + THIS year..??
who did the diagnostics??

Hi Garage do servicing, and diognostics and its done 3000 since last MOT in August last year.

Don't know much about the 2.8 engine, but having looked at the peugeot boxer (essentialy the same van) manual, if you get a reading above 300 bar for the high pressure pump, you need to replace the 'Fuel high pressure sensor'.

A pressure test on the common rail, to me sounds like testing the fuel pressure regualtor on the end of the common rail, in this case a reading over 300 would mean that the 'fuel pressure regulator' is faulty and in need of replacement.

Before anything is done I'd check with your mechanic as to whether it was the common rail he tested or the pump.

Sounds like wiring to me, the pressure reading doesn't mean anything without knowing what rpm/load was on at the time, rail pressure can go to 1200+ bar under high rev/heavy load, theoretically higher than that.
