Well, first of all i'd like to say what a neat place you guys have got going on here :D .
My name's mark, and i'm from kinghorn (burntisland) in fife. I'm currently riding about in a cinq sporting, mainly using it for commuting back and forward to my work in Edinburgh until i can afford something bigger and better.
Anyways, just thought i'd best say hi to everyone before i start pestering you's about a few niggly little problems i'm having with the car- so hi!

Mark

Alrite bud welcome to the Dark side,

Hope we (well other people) can help you with any problems you might have, again welcome to the site.

Mark

alright?

welcome to Fiat-scotland!

As for your niggly wee problems with the cinqy, fire them up- after all we are all Fiat owners so some of us will hopefully be able to help you out.

We are all used to things going wrong.
U got any pics of the cinq?

Thanks for the welcoe folks, no major problems i hope just a few rattles and squeeks lol.
First thing i can think of is an annoying squeeling sound from the engine when i start the car up and drive it, but once warmed up it seems to disapear :? i'm at a loss to what it could be.
Also, when changing gears it seems quite clunky, i've tried changing the gearbox oil but to no avail, could it be the linkages?

the squeelin noise is on my punto as well, it only happens on cold days though and it does my head in - i fixed it by installing a louder sound system and keepin it above sound level 20.

I thought that aswell though i was told by a mechanic that my engine doesn't have a fan belt (not that i'm doubting you mate) ;)

Altenator belt! If it breaks make sure your within range of somewhere cause the battery wont last too long powering everything its self.

yeah sounds like ur alternator belt mate, im sure if u store a few duracell's in the glovey that'll power ur car for a week lol

if u can find it mate, try twisting it, just an indication if its loose, but for £4, u mite aswell change it, good luck

oh and welcome to FS

Thanks for the warm welcome and advice folks! :D I'll get my mate to take a look at it, i'm not too good with changing things myself
