Helloo...I signed up to this forum a few days ago, full of enthusiasm seeing as I was looking to get my 3rd MK2 punto sporting... But my head gasket blew again yesterday and I found an oil leak... Over the past year I've spent more money than I ever want to spend again maintaining a car! So as excited I was for my new one...Nah ah...Bye bye fiat, I'm abso-effing-lutly broke!

Unlucky, hope the search for a perfect cheap car is fruitful, was the HG replaced properly and the head skimmed before replacing the gasket? Oil leaks are common on most or all cheap cars by the way, and motoring will never, ever be cheap again...

You are unlucky in having that many headgaskets go, but it can be understandable that it's tainted your view on Fiats.

Amazingly I've never had a headgasket go on a Fiat, and that's mainly old Fiats with a few miles on the clock too! But as Ffoxy says, any older car is a risk so hopefully you won't be as unlucky with whatever car you get next.
