HGT vs. VTEC

HGT vs. VTEC

Re: VTi power.

How does it make the HGT look shitter?

If you could get the HGT to rev upto 9000rpm you would have 231bhp and i've seen a 1.2 rev well over 7500rpm.

Re: VTi power.

You forgot to mention that the Yamaha is Japanese too.

Also, I note that you neglected to metion the bike is five over 5 times lighter than the Integra.

NOW, do your sums again and give me the ratios, please.

On second thoughts, dont bother - has teh realisation sunk in yet.

You will note that the new Gixer is also in excess of 180bhp - so your point is that bikes have huge BHP outputs? Fiar point, I have an old square 4 RG Gamma that will EASILy outrun 750 'Blades. Big deal.

My Integra easily outruns Bravo HGT's.

Re: VTi power.

This is the most amusing thread ever lol

I dont even need to go and look on some 0-60 database forum to know the answer to this one!

A 2L honda Civic would quite literally hammer the 2L bravo on to another planet

I love my bravos alot..... but I have a realistic apreciation for all cars and what they are capable of

in fact I would go as far as to say that a 1.6 twin cam V-tec civic would also whoop the HGT all over the road too, no doubt my comments will cause a fuss

Re: VTi power.

Not from this HGT owner Rob. If you really need to participate in this sort of behaviour why not just use a ruler to measure how big your manhood is? :D

Besides, VTECS may be quick but sound like over-stretched hairdryers to me. Yuk! ;)

All show and no go? I may have to start modding! (Nah! Bravo looks lush as it is....:))

***Content Deleted...let's face it, anything will leave his Matchbox toy Integra standing***

Re: VTi power.

Why do people use phrases/words to describe these VTEC things like '**** all over' and 'it will KILL an HGT'. These 'AMAZING' Honda's arent THAT fast and besides they suck anyway. they have no useability unless over 5000rpm (HRV an exception) and sound like 1.2 ltr Novas!

I think for the record a 'fast' car is something like a Ferrari 360 or a Porsche 911, not some lame VTEC crap that is NOT fast (nippy at most).

At least a Fiat has some character.

Re: VTi power.

Rog, I saw a white Integra Type R today...nearly pissed myself when i realised THAT was the car you make so much fuss over.

Re: VTi power.

Maybe...:)

But every car has its low points...

The Integra Type-R

Comfort
Very noisy (soundproofing has been removed to save weight) and the ride is very firm; however, the Recaro sports seats are very supportive.

Image
Huge rear wing is a bit brutal

Safety
Twin airbags and ABS are standard; but it's only as safe as you drive it…

Driving
Quite a handful round town

Reliability
Beware of thrashed or crashed used examples.

Costs
Abused cars will be dear to maintain; Group 18 insurance is acceptable.

Security
Very poor, with no security features apart from an immobiliser; an alarm is a £400 option; no deadlocks; Type-R is eminently stealable and really needs to have a Thatcham-approved system fitted.

I'm not knocking the car, as i've never had one, but every car has its high and low points...

The only thing i really despise is the Ex Bravo owner...you know the one...can't praise the car high enough while he/she's the owner, but as soon as they own a different car, that is the best car ever made...(Not a dig at you Roger, you have some good opinions when you put your mind to it), just a general opinion...

Re: VTi power.

I wish i had torque figures and at what RPM max power is reached but:

Honda Civic Jordan 1.6 VTi - 157BHP, 0-60mph - 7.7, Ins Group 15

Honda Civic 1.8 VTi (1995 - 2001) - 166Bhp, 0-60mph - 8.0, Ins Grp 15

Honda CRX 1.6 Vti (1992 - 1997) - 158Bhp, 0-60mph - 7.9, Ins Grp 16

Honda Integra Type R (1997 - 2001) 187Bhp, 0-60mph - 6.6 (woopee doo), IG 18. (not denying it would 'have' an HGT, but it would get TOTALLY DICKED ON by a Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo in every aspect bar reliability.

Honda S2000 - 240Bhp, 0-60mph - 6.0, IG 20 (car probably cant go up hills)

Honda Prelude 2.2 VTEC (1992 - 1997) - 184 Bhp, 0-60mph - 7.0, IG 17.

Honda Civic Type R (2001 onwards) - 197Bhp, 0-60 - 6.6, IG 17

Might i add that each car mentioned above is the worst looking car in its respective class, with the least character and most annoying sounding engine. Obviously they are the most reliable, or at least thats what grandma tells me.
