HGT Stiff Brake Pedal

Hi,

My HGT has an extremely stiff pedal with no give in it at all.

There is a loss of brake fuild and i have taken off the battery to see if it is the slave cylinder but its not dripping with fluid as i would expect for the amount i have topped up over the last couple of weeks.

there is some staining over the top of the gearbox but this looks historic (well not like fresh from today).

I am really confused as the pedal is usually spnongey when there is air in the system but its the complete opposite in my case.

any ideas or help gratefully appreciated.

Try putting you foot on the pedal then start the engine, You could have a split vaccuum pipe. If the pedal goes soft when you start the engine then the vaccuum is ok. if it stays hard then you have a problem with the vac system

where would the vacuum pipe be...could someone please give me a hint?

Is this a big job?

Its the round canister thing at back of the brake master cylinder, there is a rubber pipe coming from that to the C/H

Not a big job if its just the pipe needs renewing but awkward if you have to renew all the lot
