Hi I'm looking at fitting the Blaupunkt Satnav into my standard 8v Mk2 punto.

Would this work fine and why is your opinion on the unit?

The main reason I'm looking at buying it is because at the moment I have an ugly looking aftermarket stereo and I want to use the cd changer that's in the boot.

Thanks in advance

Might struggle here my friend

the HGT is alot more CANBUS'd to start with

You probably dont have the wiring present, nore the antenna, and if its wired into the stereo for audio - its gonna be a pig of a job

plus chances are maps are out of date too!

So the money is much more worthwhile been spent on a Tomtom/Garmin if you need a sat nav

And buying a new hu

Hi thanks for the reply. Would it probably just be best to buy a standard CD player then so I can use the changer

Cant comment because i simply dont know

I'd suspect you'd need to make sure the wiring in your car is present
And the original HU you refit from a donor is able to use it as well

If you have a Canbus stereo - make sure its 100% a can bus car as well
if you fit a Canbus Radio into a Non Canbus punto, it'll say can check - and wont work

The hgt sat nav system suffers from dodgy connectors on the screen leading to dead lines of pixels on the screen, if it's a factory fit cd changer then all the oem radios should be able to control it, as ziggy said It's just ensuring you get either a canbus or non canbus radio depending on your car
