Hello All,

Been a while since I've logged in.

I now have been informed I have to give up the HGT.  Apparently its taking up too much space just sitting on the driveway. L

Ive put it up on piston heads if anyone is interested.

Cheers all.

Can't respond as quickly as I'd like due to having borrow a computer to log in these days.
The link to PistonHeads is http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2193280.htm
Bought this in 2006 while still having the Mk1 HGT in perfectly good running order.  Poor thing ended up being shut away in the garage wondering what it did wrong.
The cambelts & water pump etc. were changed along with a full service shortly after by PowerFIAT.  All servicing since then has been done by myself as I only ever rely on garages for the more complicated stuff like the clutch that was replaced in 2008.  The last service was done at the beginning of the year so will be due for another in the next couple of months.
It runs in perfect order but unfortunately since my redundancy at the beginning of this year I couldn't afford to renew the insurance last April as premiums jumped from £340 a year to £2,000+.  All because of my unemployment status apparently, despite using every search option available nothing cheaper could be found.
So the HGT has been sat on the driveway since April this year & my recent on the spot firing from a job placement, of which I was very hopeful of gaining full time employment, it looks like all hopes of getting back on the road again are no more.
As per the description on PistonHeads there are patches of paint flaking off from the front bumper, this is due to a certain person thinking they would help with the cleaning & attacked it with a jet washer using the wrong attachment back in July.
The rubber coating on the door handles has degraded due to that very same person deciding to help me last winter with de-icing the locks by spraying them liberally with de-icing spray & not informing me off this until it was too late!
The two front Force 10 Alloys are in need of a little bit of refurbishment & the Toyos on them have only seen a couple of thousand miles.  I'm including the original HGT alloys in the sale, all are in good condition with the exception of a small nick in one of the rims.
The interior is spotless but could do with a quick vacuum & polish.  There is a Sony MP3 Head Unit installed & the original CD changer is located under the rear seat.  I'm sure I do have an original FIAT head unit boxed up somewhere & would include that with the sale as the Sony unit isnt connected to the changer.
Pictures are as below, I've listed it as wanting £450 due to there being no TAX or MOT but I am looking for £400 - £425 so if anyone is interested please let me know / tell me what you think.

Multiple edits done to correct image placement mistakes, it's been a while & forgot how...

I've got a 1.6 SX and wondered whether you were up for doing a swap with cash either way if you aren't able to afford to run it anymore?

Just an idea.

"airbag's alround,liking that"

Yup, and even after a crash they will still be all in place!

I don't know what kind of crash you need for them to go off, as all the broken / crashed Bravo's I've seen - none of them ever had a deployed airbag.

Even Lozz's airbag hadn't gone off and he hit a lamp post, hedge, tree, ditch and rolled into a field!!

Not sure if it is in the post but am very interested but wanted to know were you are. im in the southeast and wouldnt want to travel to far if im honest

Hi Paul,
Sorry not looking for an exchange.  Simple fact is I can't afford to put a pedal car on the road at present never mind a real one.
LOL yes the airbags all round does make one feel safer but I must admit when I cartwheeled my very first Bravo into & out of a ditch at 70ish mph my drivers airbag never went off either.  Mind you given the drivers area was completely stoved in it wouldn't have helped me if I was still sitting in front of it.  During the crash I managed to be thrown about a bit & end up laid across the back seat!
Steven, I'm in Immingham which is near Grimsby and is probably a little too out of the way for you.

Is there anything wrong with the car as to why it hasn't got an mot? As a mate could be interested.

Hello Paul,

As far as I am aware there is nothing wrong with the car at all, at least that was the case when I was running it back in April.  Since then it has been sat on the drive & has only been moved a couple of feet every now & then in order to wash it.  The MOT ran out in August & the simple reason for not having it done is money.  I don't have any!
In order to get this MOT'd I would have to insure it to get it to the MOT station.  Unfortunately I don't have £44 for the MOT nor do I have the stupid amount needed to insure it to get it there.  None of the Insure by the day companies will insure me for any reasonable amount due to being unemployed and I simply refuse to drive ANY vehicle on the road illegally.

Recently a potential buyer asked if I would allow her to pay for it to be MOTd before she decided to buy it of which I was fine with as long as her own insurance covered her to drive another vehicle.  This must have been a problem as she never came back!

Can you not see if your garage man or friend has a trailer?

looks tidy and the leather looks very nice. good luck with the sale...

i second that ^ :)

looks like very nice HGT. Good luck with the sale and good luck finding a job. I also noticed the insurance hike's between being employed and unemployed talk about kicking you when your down.

Personaly I think if you really like Bravos and that garage is free I would keep it.

Such a shame your so far away!! I want it but the hassle of getting it back to mine, with no Tax and MOT would be prob cost me the same as the car to buy!!

Steven

Well your not that far away from me... but Kate says I can't have another HGT as we can't afford to run ours at the moment :(

Do you fancy selling the HGT alloys seperately? If so do they need a referb apart from the slight damage, or are they near enough dam it mint. plus are the tyres any good??

You have prob seen from previous posts, that I am interested in the car big time, but I am in the south east of the country, South Kent and was wondering if anyone knew how mush it would be to get it back to me if I had to have it transported.

Also mentioned in a previous post that someone was willing to pay for the MOT to be done before buying it. I am willing to do that, but could you get it to a garage to do the MOT?

Cheers

Steven

Sorry for late reply, always a problem when having to borrow a laptop to post.

Tommy - I can sell the alloys separately but would have to be collection only.  They aren't mint so you can judge for yourself Ive just taken some pictures of them & put them up here http://s453.photobucket.com/albums/qq252/USER854/HGT%20Mk2%20Alloys/?albumview=slideshow

Steven Unfortunately getting it to a garage is a problem even though the nearest MOT station is basically up the road.  Insurance thing again & the only ones I know with a trailer want £50 to get it there & back.  L

Cheers,

Darren

Just an update.
I'm considering taking the advert on PistonHeads down due to the alarmingly large number of emails I'm getting (62 so far) that only have two questions along these lines....
1. Does the alarm work?
2. Where exactly is it parked, outside or in the garage?

Anyway I'm lowering the price to £375 for passers by & £350 to BOO members.
