help!!

had to be new years eve didnt it

back ground info

two keys and a red key, one blue alarmd the car alarm 1 didn't

the one that didn't has packed up, not the battery as i have changed that

and not the micro switch has snaped off on the board

i have never been able to code the key that didnt arm the alarm to the car...the green led never lit up....

i have both key codes however

i need some help as the alarm is armed and i cant get in to it with out setting it off

im happey to scrap the fiat alarm and get something better...but basicly i need advice and help in the midlands area

this fiat has caused me nothing but problems sice i had it, its alreay had a new engine clutch slave cylinder, bearings ect
 
there is a key thing under the steerin wheel near the fuse box you can turn your alarm system off there , its in the user manual i had to do it on my other hgt
 
yes mine used to play up on my 99 V reg hgt , i had a look through the user guide an it shows you where it is , it just turns your alarm off. your central lockin will still work. ill have a look in the userguide 2morro an tell u exactly where it is ,
its like box type thing hidden away behind steerinrack if my mind serves me correctly but that was about 2 year ago , ill have a look 2morro for ya
 
that would be great mate, its armed at the moment, will this turn the siren from going off?
 
do u have a fiat bravo owner handbook page 35 fig 6

if the remote control batteries run low orthe caralarm system is faulty,
the alarm can be excluded by usingone ofthe emergency keys.. remove the securing screws fromthe fuse box cover , remove the rubber cap and insert the key ; anti clockwize (to off )to exclude the system..

ive just had a look now hope it works .. dont leave the emergency key in cover it back up wiv the rubber thing

is this the same as the ignition key..as i have no other keys bar the red one
 
cant remember u will just av to av a look but its wot it says in owner manual . i no it turns alarm off though cos its wot i had to do

ill look at my car 2morro

if u turn it off i can get u a clifford for £110 u will av to fit it urself but its a clifford ( name says it all) or an autoelectrician will fit for about £ 100
if your near wigan ill get a clifford fitted for £250 u will av cirtificate
 
its not bloody there, i went though the user manual found the page, opend the door

alarm going off, took the panel off

no blody place for the key to go, i can see were it should go, it just looks like fiat removed it!
 
regained the use of my ears now :D

is there a fuse i can pull that will stop the alarm?
looking at the manual there are a load of fuses to do with the alarm, so i dont know which one to pull
 
cant do a diagram but go to the fuse box under steering wheel there is 2 sets of fuses like this

2a 2p
3a 3p
4a 4p
5a 5p
6a 6p

take out number 12, this is the electronic alarm power

i pulled 12 and the dash stopped working?!

at current....the led is flashing but the alarm is not activating on door open or starting the car

do that will do untill i get another one fitted

doesn't help that the HG on emms fiat went yestoday :(
 
iirc mate,i posted this up on FF ages ago cus i havnt got an alarm switch under my steering wheel aswell.Its something to do with the year/model of the car i think..Ill try hunt it out.Cus my blue key dont work either,even with a brand new and correct battery in the key,led dnt light.All i got is c/l manually,But i have got all the sensors :s
BUT u say your alarm IS going off but you havnt no switch?
 
oh i had a key on mine so i just turned it off , there is nothin else in the owners handbook about turnin it off
 
i have always had a issue trying to code a key in to the alarm system.

pressing the button on the courtesy light doesn't light up the green LED

i get nothing at all.

today i went out to it, opened the door with the key and the alarm went off.

i took the panel off the fuse box to look for the alarm on/off key barrel

and its just not there. so i disconnected the battery and let the alarm run its self down (much to the annoyance of every one sleeping.

2 hours later i reconnected the battery and put everything back together, the alarm looks to be active and the led is flashing but there is no alarm on door open or start

i took it out to the shops and back locking it with the key, and didn't have any issues.

i think its safe to say the fiat alarm is toast, but at least i can drive it now!

ill need to get a aftermarket one installed or get some one who realy knows what there doing to fix the fiat one.....
 
Thats all i get mate lol i think my key needs reprogramming...But tbh i did get a time when my battery was dyeing,(last time i had my car stood)i noticed the red light in the instrument panel strip flash once or twice when ive tried turning my car over to start it,and ive never known that before on mine..
 
i had this problem on my brava last year the alarm started to go of and fobs stopped workiung turned out to be water getting into the switch by the interior light and stopping me from programming the fobs back to the car removed the unit dried it out and covered it in elec trical compound to prevent the water from shorting it again and resealed my ariel as that was the source of the water was then able to reprogramme my keys and been working fine ever since

right, update on this one....

soldering iron, precession temp controlled 19.99 in sale
.8mm solder, non lead 2.99

25 minuets de-soldering and re-soldering micro stitches from 1 key to the other

priceless.........

i went every were this morning in a attempt for a key place to repair the key, no one would even look at it, no one stocked the switch i needed so i robed it from the key that didn't work and moved it over to the key that i suspected the micro switch was nackerd on

one working alarm....for now

im not happy with the soldering quality

on the left hand side is the key, battery, and Code System chip (imob) in the right hand side we have the back of the board containing the alarm micro switch, and all the SM components

here we have the other side of the board

you can see to the right of this the now removed micro switch that i suspected of causing the problem, this mounts on to the 4 solder pads on the left of the board

i didn't get a photo of it all back together as i wanted to test it out!!
 
ill also add its extremity fiddly, and if you dont have a fine point soldering iron, dont attempt it as the soler poits are very close to other heat sensitive chips
