Help!!!

Hi everyone

Im new to the site! Hope everyone is well...all you fiat lovers! haha!

I got my fiat bravo four months ago and already i have to get a new subframe! Gutted...:yuck:

Does anyone know anywhere i can get a new one cheap? Sorry, typical girl i havent got a clue!! he he!

Will appreciate any suggestions or tips!

Hello! Thanks for getting back to me...yeah it has...all very strange. I nearly bloody died on the motorway - i thought it was the wishbone at first...my mate is a mechanic and he looked at it and said it was weird and it might have had a dodgy MOT because it looks like its been rusting for years...so basically i need a new one and im gonna get 2 new wishbones whilst im there, but instead of going for the first quote of £350 plus vat for the subframe i thought i might find out if i can get one cheaper...

is that new price or scrappy price?
would be about £25-£50 at a good scrappy i reckon

Thats one new, but to get one scrapped how do i get the subframe off the car...sounds too much bother to me, plus thats real hard work isnt it..so im better off getting a new one i reckon but just dont know where...im from London, where are you from? Do you know a good scrap yard?

what side of london? theres is one in essex i know of that will take it off for you if they have one, its about 3/4 of an hour drive from the east end

That sounds good, well my sister is in Essex, its only about a half hour drive from me...have you got their number? Plus do you think used subframes are okay? How do i know if its okay? Sorry to ask loads of questions!!

well Ive never seen a rusted through one on a modern fiat, usually there just a bit of surface rust if any.

Cool thanks! I will give them a bell then, i think thats the best way, i wonder if they deliver? Probably not! Thanks guys for all your help, i really appreciate it..however, do you know of any good sites or places that sell new ones? I think i will go with the used one but just in case i might need to get a new one? I really cant be arsed with spending £350 plus VAT!!

Would be a good Idea [when you have the second hand one ]to get it cleaned down and painted up to help with any further rust issues lots of places will deliver by the way
