hello everybody. im new here. have bravo 1.8 16v and wanna make it more powerful and increase bhp. problem is i dont know much about cars so i havent got a clue how to do it. could anybody advise me what i have to buy or change to do it??

To get a good boost in power you need to spend a fair bit of wonga...personally I don't rate induction kits and exhausts for noticeable power gains, you could go for cams and piggyback chip but that lot would cost more than the car's worth.

thx for ur help. to be honest im thinking about selling it and buying hgt but i still havent decided yet. anyway could u please tell me what can i do with my 1.8, how much it would cost and how much more power i would get??

I'm sure there was someone on here who got something in the region of 140-145bhp from a 1.8 with cams and chip but I can't remember who it was lol. For that you'd be looking at the thick end of a grand.

yeah thats what i wanna get. around 150bhp. im thinking about changing full exchaust system. i heard that performance air filter should help. also i found ecs electric supercharger but i donk really know if it worth it. apart from that what else i can do??

lol, forget the supercharger, it's a joke. If you go for an airfilter I'd recommend and enclosed induction kit like the BMC CDA - vastly superior to K&N.

Supersprint is about the only exhaust I'd recommend but after putting a Supersprint manifold and sh*tty Sportex exhaust on my old 1.6 I'd never go down tht route again...I swear I lost power with that.

I'm sure there are other folks who'll know what exhaust to go for.
