they will remove the stereo. it took me about 3 hrs to remove mine becuase the plastic holes were not holes (if youunderstand that???) the wholes behind the stereo face were not there - so had to force the radio out by wedging a screwdriver on the side of it and then make the wholes in the stereo
Ill try those ideas, the anoying thing is its already been out once but i had to take out that unit and put the orginal in when the insurer had the car. Now it just wont budge.
i got long pieces of wire down the hole's n give em a riggle to get mine out! But my old der's stilo was quite a problem like your own! and i took the inner out of the up glovebox/cooler thing its pops out pretty easy.. and its easy acess to the back of your headunit to give it a push out!
I noticed too that the pins are mince on the Stilo radio, they would unlock but then pull free when you tried to pull the pins to remove the Head Unit.
So i took out the small dash liner and pushed the stereo out from behind.
I went to Fiat about this and they told me to use coat hangers as there isnt actually a tool to get the radio out (even fiat use coat hangers if you take your car into them) I found it also helped to pull the inner lining out of the upper glove box and push the radio out from the back.
