Yep, thats the one. Built without the CAT, then imported only to realise they couldn't legally sell them without the CAT, so they bodged it into place sort of thing (y)

Although is yours fuel injected

 these 92/93 Pandas were not bodged but designed like that. They are the ones fitted with bosch fuel injection controling the fueling.

The later 94+ cars with the rod/cable change were again a 'new' design due to stricter emision regs for 94.(y)

BUMP

Anything happening with this? I just phoned my local dealer after deciding to bite the bullet and order a brand new boot for Satan's Rodent. They informed me that they're no longer listed and that I should contact FIAT UK head office to see if they could help. I tried phoning them just now but there's no answer, presumably because it's a bank holiday.

If anyone has a decent used one for sale I'd like to buy it.

OK. Phoned FIAT head office today and was put through to customer care where I spoke to a lady who said "mmmmmmm" a lot but other than that was not much help. A car that FIAT stopped producing in 2003 is "too old" apparently for them to have any interest in helping you get spares for.

They've taken my details and said they'd get back to me. No boubt they'll wait a reasonable time, while doing nothing, before phoning me back to say there's nothing they can do to help.

I'll report on their reply here if they do...

Reading through the posts on this thread again, the dealer that petel rang seem to be more helpful than most. Perhaps we could get the parts through them. Can you let us know your local dealer details petel?

I had the same experience as Kev. Ordered one last year from Fiat dealer, took my money, waited six weeks then told me it wasn't available anymore.
I've considered trying to make one out of a handbrake boot from something, but I'd need the remains of one to get the right dimensions.

The story continues.

The nice lady from FIAT head office rang me today. The long and short of it is that the part is no longer manufactured and is not available in this country. She said she'd tried using their parts system to check all UK dealers stock and had turned up nothing. There was nothing further to be done.

However, she did give me a web site address for an Italian parts specialist:

www.nuovastecca.com

I tried this and managed to download their FIAT parts list and guess what? 7602682 is listed. I'm hoping this means they have them. I have sent them an enquiry so watch this space...

Their website gave me a bit of headache! :p

This is getting very frustrating. Of the other possible sources I've mentioned in this thread, none of them have bothered to reply to my requests.

I have now e-mailed FIAT Italy direct to appeal for help in locating this part. If they can't help then I will have to give up.
