Hi all, recently purchased a 2006 grande punto active 1.2,
thinking about replacing the cd player, as it is the manufacturers standard one at the moment. just wondering if i install a new one will the buttons on the steering wheel for volume control etc still work? Thanks!

Get a Connects2 adaptor harness with the relevant cable for whatever new headunit you get. Bear in mind though that they only make cables for common units (JVC, Kenwood, Alpine, etc) and make sure the headunit you get supports being controlled from the wheel.
So, short answer, yes.

thanks! i bought a jvc KD-R45E so hopefully it does support wheel control however it didnt say nothing about it on the specs!

I dont wanna sound stupid but i literally dont know anything about car stereos could you tell me exactly what wires are need to connect a compatible stereo to the wheel controls? and maybe even how i would find out which stereos are compatible? i have researched a bit and think i have an idea but would rather hear from someone who has done this before! thanks

Knowing which ones are compatible is simply a case of reading the blurb, it should say if it supports it or not. As I mentioned in post 2 - you want the Connects2 adaptor (not the autoleads one as it's crap) and the relevant patch lead (so JVC if that's the route you want to go). Whereabouts are you in the world? If you're local I don't mind helping you install if you've any concerns.

from what ive read up on this seems to be the right leads and compatible stereo, does this look good to you?
