Thanks Jane - I'm thinking about getting some blue ones!! Might decide to go for a more toned down colour though :)
Personally I wouldn't go for carpet mats, I had carpet mats and whilst they're still OK, the underside of the heal section on the drivers side one was starting to wear through. Bought myself some rubber Michelin mats from Argos a few months ago and they're fantastic, I had a large McDonalds coke make a successful escape bit from the cup holders on the way through a roundabout and the mat contained a full 500ml of coke and ice without letting any hit the carpet :)

I've always had rubber mats and only got carpet ones because it seemed like the done thing for 500 owners but tbh I'll never buy carpet mats again :)

Meh, I'm a woman - I want the pretty coloured ones to be honest :D I've had the ones in my car for 9 years and they still look like new to be honest, but I do have a seperate little heal mat thingie which is starting to show a few holes but they've done a great job I recon!!

I'm not even going to comment on that photo - LOL!!!

What color is Volare blue? I don't think we have that here.

I saw a blue someone had on a 500 they bought - I think - a few years ago and it was beautiful. A grayish blue. The person said they discontinued it. Not sure why they would do that...

That might be the cha cha azure blue referred to as CCA Blue - now discounted.

Recent discussion on what's the best colour but your colours appear to be different particularily on the Reds - a bit of 'homework' for the weekend. :)

This is the 1.2 volare blue lounge that I spotted at the dealer last week. It has the grey/ivory interior. Had I not been after my specific extras I could've been persuaded to buy it :)

FloJo. How much of a saving would you have made with this pre-reg over the list price of a new one ? Realise that it is missing tha TA engine (which you're still 50/50 about ) and the Tan leather and probably a few more bits that are probably not all that important :)

I do specifically want ESP in my new car - it's something I don't want to budge on either. In 17 years of driving I've had 1 accident and that was in the snow a couple of years ago, ever since I've been pretty nervous about driving in those kind of conditions so it's something I want for my peace of mind.

I'm not 50/50 about the twin air either - that's the one I want. I've just been putting off ordering in hope of any discounts. But I'm off to order either later today or tomorrow :D

The car in the photo is new new as in not yet registered yet.

Many thanks for the response FloJo. I was jesting a little - you'll have to excuse me :worship:. The ESP in IMHO is worthwhile having particularly on a TA. There's a pretty good thread on the FF discussing it and I do believe that it does save lives. When I got the little thump last Sunday I was amazed how my own 'little' car held its line. It's a testimony to how well built the 500 is.
Good luck with the order. You seem to be quite firm now on what you're looking for. (y)

I agree about ESP. All cars should have had ESP a long time ago. I guess it's something that people don't see and understand so manufacturers have been able to leave it on the options list.

It really comes down to cost. If you look at the starting point for the US 500 models at $15,500 + delivery, etc bringing out a no frills basic model gets some people on the ladder. Once you're there they will hope to keep you progressing to a high spec model or possibly a bigger model e.g. Punto EVO.
I think you may have already mentioned that ESP is becoming mandatory on 2012 models so the starting point for a 2012 POP is bound to be at a higher price than it is currently.

ESP isn't going to do much when you're on snow tbh. If you're worried about driving on snow then get yourself some winter tyres. I've been running winter tyres on my 500 for 2 years now because it was so poor in the snow on summer tyres and it's fantastic and I've never been stuck once

I was the only car that could get into this parking space for about a week :D I saw others try but they just couldn't get in.

Even got through this snow, though the limiting factor tends to become how far the bumper is off the ground and is starts to act like a snow plough.

ESP doesn't give you any extra grip, it merely makes use of the grip you've got and uses it to correct the slide. But if you don't have any grip, and summer tyres have sod all grip in the winter, then ESP won't really do much for you.
