Help with Clutch

i got a new clutch fitted on my car about 18 months ago when i first bought the car, ive no idea what make it was or anything like that, but i need a new one already, is there any other clutch that will fit in a bravo (for not much extra) that might take a bit more stick and wear and tear as i tend to ride the clutch at traffic lights and sometimes start quickly off the line, i know it would be cheaper just to solve these problems, but just wondered if there was a more hard wearing clutch?

i also stated, it would be cheaper to not ride the clutch, but still wud like to know if there is another clutch that would last a bit longer, thanks for the constructive answer

No clutch will last if you abuse it like that.

well which would last longer?
it isnt particularly the riding that i do alot, its more fast starts.
hasnt someone put an alfa 3.2 v6 clutch in or something?

Proper fast starts don't wear clutches, slipping it does.

uve lost me, wats the difference between the 2 and what is slipping the clutch?

Slipping the clutch is where the engine RPM is not the same as the gearbox RPM, normally this situation only happens when you've not released the clutch pedal fully.

This makes LOTS of heat and wears the clutch down.

For a fast start you should release the clutch as quickly as possible, if you're slipping the clutch you're not getting full power to the wheels.

i c, so say i put the revs to 5000 RPM, and released the clutch as fast as possible, this would not damage the clutch?
even if it involoves doing a rather large wheel spin?lol

It will damage it but i think wat he's geting at is it wont damage it as much as holding the clutch half way?

Doing that will damage your whole car.

Try 3000RPM.

Yes, if you do lots of high RPM starts the driveshafts will go as well!!

Ryan, it does sweet F**k all on a 1.4, doesnt even make a different noise, my old 1.4 is now on its 4th induction kit and none of them make any difference!
