Your post contains false statements and is misleading.

It has always been the case that the plod could pull you for noise even before the red flag act.

Today they are more 'picky'.

They might be if your a b*llend... Luckily I don't have that problem....

Also if your going to quote legislation... please quote it correctly... as one may think your information is 'misleading' as you put it....

https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-approval/exemptions-from-vehicle-approval

2. Exemptions from vehicle approval

You don’t need vehicle approval for:
heavy goods vehicles (more than 3,500kg maximum weight) over 25 years old
light goods vehicles (3,500kg maximum weight or less) over 10 years old

****cars and minibuses with 8 passenger seats or less (not including the driver) over 10 years old****

Im off to fit my cherry bomb :p

And the remainder of the section reads...
''
  • buses, coaches and minibuses with more than 8 passenger seats (not including the driver) built by a single manufacturer before 29 July 2010
  • buses, coaches and minibuses with more than 8 passenger seats (not including the driver) with different body and chassis manufacturers, made before 29 July 2011
  • tracked vehicles, eg a vehicle that runs on tracks rather than wheels
  • vehicles designed and constructed for use on construction sites, quarries, ports and airports
  • vehicles designed and constructed for and used by the armed services, fire and rescue forces, or used in maintaining public order
If your vehicle needs approval, you must send proof of this in when you apply to register it. The DVLA won’t register your vehicle if you don’t.
''
Your Sei already has approval (by Fiat) called 'type approval ' and a registration plate, which was obtained by the garage when selling the auto new, based on the type approval.

Note I do like Cherry Bombs please feel free to fit one.

But the PLOD or VOSA

can do your for each of

a) modification
b) noise (and leakage if fitted badly)
c) driving

the judges just love people to quote the law at them, but it is not recommended plead guilty and pay is better..

No one cares about the legality around here do they? , just get one that isn't annoyingly loud and doesn't sound (or look) wonk. Exhaust size is relative to engine components/size. Big/forced induction engine = big exhaust, small asthmatic engine, spend your money where it counts.

Absolutely love this.... brilliant!
