I fail to reset the digital mileage counter on the driver's console, no matter how hard I press the reset button it just doesn't work (I always reset mileage after a fuel refill). I have this problem for the last 1-2 months right now. I had the same problem last summer but it faded away even though I didnt do anything different. I observed that, when I have this problem, I also cannot see the outside temperature on the mileage display after pressing its button (which is on the same row with the fog lights). Also related, when starting the car, I turn the key until the warning lights go off, then start ignition, during that waiting phase, kilometer display shows some weird numbers, like upside down 7's, 8s and such. Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be and what I should do to fix the problem?

I'd appreciate any help, thank you.

does it show CLI and then a number?

if it does it is telling you that there is a fualt with the climate control. since your outside temp sensor isnt giving a signal i would try that first, it is in the left wing mirror.

Sorry I dont get what CLI means, but it's showing the overall km travelled just fine. About temperature button thingy, I noticed this morning that it doesn't click like the other buttons next to it.

Thanks for the response, helps a lot to determine if I should take it to some garage or sleep on it (y)

the "upside down 7's, 8s" obviously arent upside down, they are all letters or numbers. if you tell me what they say then i can tell you what is wrong.

usually they will say CLI, and then a number. the number tells you what the fault is.

I turned the key, display went like this:

888888888
kmiles 8888

FFFFFFFFFF
k iles FFFF

JJJJJJJJJJJJJ
m JJJJ

then it shows my kilometer and such..
I hadn't thought these meant something.
Does these help any?
