Ok.. i have been busy sourcing parts for my 500s before I start restoration... but I'm struggling..
If anyone has any of the following (will pay reasoable shipping of collect if in the UK)
I need, early Engine N or D 479 ideal (I need to know the engne number to see if it is close enough to use) 2 engines would be ideal, including tin wear etc.
I also need an early clear front indicator unit, the alloy ones.
The ducts for the front fresh air vents for an N, I can get repo from Italy but just wondered if anyone had a couple knocking about...

Info/ detailed pictures of the rear seat in a 1959N
not sure what else I am missing but there will be things like ignition switch etc.. I know the big dealers have repro for some stuff, but I would prefer useable or restorable original...
If anyone has restored an N or D in the UK and is not far from the Midlands I'd love to pop over for a chat...

Cheers

Probably of no help to you but maybe of general interest. I did find a couple of early cars in the Horopito Car Wreckers Yard. Bad news is that the location is North Island , New Zealand. One of the cars had the chassis number 137259 and engine number 165032.
There are also two 850 Sport Coupes in there too.

Ok... continuing the chase....
Other than the actual numbering difference what are the visible differences between say a 110 479c engine and a 110F 499 engine..

I know the air cleaner is bolt on on the earlier..
But being deft with an alloy tig it would be easy to remove the F from the casing... and it woudn't take a mathemetician to work out a suitable engine number to match the car....

What about Dizzy?, Dynamo?
Head? Oil slinger unit..
I have not had the privlledge of having an early engine to compare and I can't see much from manuals, book and photos I have...
