Hi everyone, pardon for not so good English.
I need help. I bought second hand Fiat Marea TD2,4 1997. with air conditioner. Well, the problem is next. Whenever is raining, or melting snow, all glasses in the car are getting covered with exstreme condensation. Air circulation is working fine, but it can not dry the glass out. I can only see about 30% from bellow. I looked at others Marea's and it doesn't seems that they don't have that problem. I live in Serbia, and in my town there is no certified fiat service, and ones in biger cities are expensive. This is not occuring when it is cold, or dry snow, but only when it's wet. Has enyone got any idea? Please?

Do you have it set to circulate the air inside the car or bring in fresh air?

i know alot of people (av done it my self) that have had it on circulate air inside the car and there windows steam up in the wet all the time.

ah sorry read ur post to quick, my answer might be wrong...

Change the in car air filter and use some alcohol to clean the windshield.

in a language he understands: promijeni peludni filter (filter kabine) i oèisti staklo iznutra sa alkoholom iz apoteke, okreni ventilaciju samo na stklo ili staklo/noge i dr¾i je stalno na 1

I have changed the air filter two weeks ago, the one on the right side of the engine, if this is the right one ( mislim ako je to filter kabine). The air circulation is set like this. The button with image of car and circulating arrow is turned on, and it is set oly at windows. I have tried different settings too, so as different temperatures and its always the same. I didn't wipe windows with alcohol, but i'll do it and wait for the rain to see if its working. Thanks for reply guys.
Is it posible that water is penetrating the air circulation installations?

with the setting for the air circulation system, ensure that the arrow shows air coming from outside of the car in, rather than re-circulating around the car.

does your car have a sunroof?

Is the level of the coolant OK, no droping or anything, and like Andy said keep the air coming from the outside, not circle in side the car

my hlx 115 was doing this. it would steam up like a fooker when raining and i had to have aircon on full blast!! turned out the heater matrix was on way out and it lasted bout 6 weeks after the condensation started. does the aircon smell different??

dash out job if the matrix is knackered!

several signs mate...
loss of coolant
funny smell from heaters
condensation (really bad)
wet footwell

any of them or all of them together. to be honest though it could be going and none of the above may manifest itself :(

at least £400+ if matrix is knackered though!

i had the same problem, and it turned out it was a cracked windscreen causing the fault.
are you sure none of your windows are cracked?

for a left-hand drive it wouldn't be 400 pounds to replace heater matrix, since it is located behind glove box. 4 crews, 30 minutes job.

OK. The alcohol thing didn't work. The windows are OK, but from different signature on the windscreen i think that it have been replaced. First, the heating is blowing only when i turn on the lowest left button *the one with the car and circling arrow), i think that this is an air recirculation. How do i turn on just for front blowing? Next, after the rain, the heating have strange smell, like moisture smell. Third, the car was attemped to be stollen, but the thief was not succesfull, but he damaged lock on drivers door. So, when previous owner repaired it, i think that he removed the nylon cover from insade of door. So, everytime i open the window and close it, it is wet, no matter how many times i open it. But for now it is a minor problem, i think. I really like this car, and i bought it really cheap, and it has a great performance. It realy suites me.
Is this helpfull? Next thing i would replace is the cocpit air filter, the one behind glove department. It is pitty that i can't afford to replace all things at once. I can do just one at a time in two weeks. Thank you for your help. I think that this community is great.

I had a very similar issue with my HGT. Turned out it was a faulty seal on the windscreen.
