help sumfins wrong!!!!

as title sumfins wrong.
For a start when engine running theres a loud tapping sound gets quiker when i rev.(tappets maybe)
Secondly when sat at idle ie traffic lights theres a sqeaking sound that goes away when i rev.
lastly the damn thing wont start when its warm have to let it cool down for half hour also the battery is going dead and not charging was just wondering if ne1 could help point me in right direction and if they could somehow be all connected any help much appreciated

Sounds like blocked oil feed to camshaft, dry components squeaking and wearing out rapidly!

Battery losing charge is unrelated. Could be weak, old battery, alternator not producing enough charge, poor earth or an item draining the battery when everything is switched off eg boot light remaining on

car is 98 with 60000 on clock @brian what can i do to check if thats the problem and how to fix it please mate

ok sorry its a brava s 1,4 cambelt was done at 50000 when i bought it but it just sounds ruff and i am worried it will blow not overheating or nething just a really awful sound

ur camshaft oil feed will be blocked its a common problem on the 1400cc if you get it sorted asap you should be able to avoide it becoming costly

Or it could be a buggered alternator. The charging problem makes me think it could be.
