Hey everyone. hope ur all well. i am new to this site and would love some help so that i can persuade my dad to mod his marea hlx 2.0 20v. i managed to persuade him to swap his alloys so now hes got a nice shiny set of 17" wolfrace on there but i really think he needs to get rid of the radio cassette and go for a cd player that has mp3 capability. anyway i was wondering if you have to get a facia adapter to be able to do this, if so where can i get one from, oh and how do i take out the old unit as its rite at the top not like any normal double din ive seen before. thank you soooooo much. ur much loved if i can get this done!

ps. also was wonderin if the ariel comes off cos i hate it and want him to get a small one.. thanks everyone! love from aimee xxx

hi,
you do need a fascia, try http://www.autoaudioaccessories.co.uk/?page=shop/browse&keyword=fiat for one. They have better quality ones than halfords.
The aerial does come off, screws i think but be careful not to pull it sideways because its mount can break off. Richbrook and most other aerials can be fitted quite easily.
I have removed the original radio once but that was a long time ago and can't remember how to do it, think I used a pair of small flat headed screw drivers and slow prised it out - can be tricky, might be best to get a car audio place to have the new one fitted (having them remove the old one).

As above is correct apart from the removing of the radio.

Don't use a screw driver as they it will damage the radio unit if you ever need to put the unit back.

You need a set of feeler gauges and you push it down the side of the unit at bottom. This releases a clip so that you can pull the unit out.

I used a cheap knife (need tobe a thin blade) to do this that did the trick just as well.

Bit fiddly to remove just keep moving from side to side gently this will help it release.
