wouldnt it start on just 2 cylinders anyway , just very lumpy ? as it wont start at all, i had to stop testing as i melted my jump leads lol! it seems as though the battery is flat, however the battery still has enough power to start the bravo. this could be due to the jump leads being warm ?

You just altered the plug leads opposite?
Firing order is, (Starting at the timing belt end) 1,3,4,2. That is the correct sequence. Don't forget, Number 1 piston will be at tdc on the compression, That is next stroke down will be firing You only have to do the number 1 cylinder, the other three will be done in the sequence above. Only other thing i can suggest is to let a mechanic have a look at it

i no what order the leads are to be connected , i think theres a problem with my electrics, only half the coil pack, where 4 and 1 are connected, seems to work, where 3 and 2 are connected there is no life.

i have tried swapping around the supply to coild pack, and that cures 3 and 2 , but then 4 and 1 dont work, therefore the fault is somewhere alond the wiring loom , as it is not the coil pack , but before the coil pack plugs.

after studying wiring diagrams it would appear that the fuel pump relay or the fuel injection ecu are most likely the guilty culprits , either that or damaged wiring, so ill try the relays, then see if i can borrow an ecu from the scrappy b4 i buy , he usually lets people try things on first for fittment, and if not go to the auto electricians with the wiring diagram and ask he to rewire it.

it may be co-inscidental, but before all this the front indicator bulb stopped working , however the bulb was fine , and i tried 2 different bulbs , so more dodgy wiring.

what do you guys think.

and to top all my misseray lol, the bravos wheel bearing has just gone bad lol.

just thought id let you no what happened, the wires to coil pack had all burnt out, and a new wiring loom was fited from a scrapper , ive replaced battery , and the car ran fine , she then failed her mot on emisions, i wasnt surprised as it was still not running 100%. i checked the timing and adjusted it , which made her run perfect and then she passed her mot.

after all that , a week later , the rediator expansion tank cracked when the mrs was on her way to work :S and guess what , another head gasket!

i had the head tested and refaced, and a new expansion tank.

i managed to o remove the head in 1.5 hours , and bolted her back together again in just under 2.5, i thought that was pretty good going for a novice like.

thanks for all your help guys.
gaz

Glad you are all sorted chap.
Fingers crossed thats all the problems sorted for a while now!

Nice one gaz.Hope you don't get anymore problems. If you ever do just send a post and i'll try to help if i can.Sei's are good wee cars pity about the handbrake being pretty weak.Did you get any problems with this in your mot?.Cheers

i agree with the handbrake, me and a mate were pushing it when the engine was dead , we thought , bloody hell this is heavy for a small car, then we noticed we had pushed 7 metres with the handbrake on !

had an advisory on the steering rack , but i should be able to sort that .
