Help :( power steering failure

does any one know what could be the problem ? for the past few weeks my power would just randomly stop working then start again but now its just completly stopped working and the failure light is on does anyone know what it could be ? its a bit of a joke driving a car with no power steering its stupidly hard lol not fun ! thanks peeps jordan .

its weird cuz its works but every now and then when i turn the engine off it wont work and then when i start to go along i turn it off and on then it wil come back on its really weird but the other day it didnt work at all :bang: my battery is fine its pretty new

You actually checked the battery?

It could be a dodgy one maybe?

need to go on a diagnostic machine.... have this nearly every month with one... it usually comes up with faulty motor... they about £200 from dealers

If its a new ish battery did you clean the terminals and battery clamps before refitting? and grease them up (use vasaline)

also check all the earths in the engine bay are clean trace the wires that come of the - pole of the battery where they bolt to the chassis and engine unbolt clean area round them and ring crimp at the end and refit
