My cars making a loud tapping sound from the front passenger side when im off the throtle and a faint tapping when accelerating

Thinking it sounds like an engine mount but i rocked the engine as hard as i could and it didnt budge much at all.

Could it be the gearbox?

The closest sounding thing i could find in the haynes manual was big end bearing (yekes)

Anyone elce experience this or know what it might be?

Andy, as stupid as it sounds, check the bolts in your wheel

Oil's just over 3/4 mark. Hasnt lost a drop ever!

And the first thing i did was check all the bolts.
Even remover and refitted them!

Its the stupid gearbox mount.
The main bolt snapped.
140 euro for a new one.

im guessing you mean by the main bolt the one that goes through the mount into the engine mount rubber?

i bought a whole new engine mount last year and it cost me £30 through fiat!

handy thing is its not too hard a job to swap, mines forever on and off
