hiya a woman here i have a fiat doblo 1.3 mulitjet fault light keeps comeing up so took to garage and told egr needing cleaning that was done 1 day later light was back on so back to garage new egr fitted told all faults was cleared and 1 day later light back on so took to garage agin today van was scanned and its saying egr fault so they cleared the fault...my question is why does the light keep comeing back on if new part has been fitted...surely its not the egr but another problem im getting nowhere with the garage does anyone know what the problem can be pleaseeeee

did they give you the old EGR?,
always worth checking these places are changing the parts they are charging for..??

hiya thanks for answering....the garage where i took it today has told me to go back to the garage that fixed it friday and ask for the old egr...so i ran them and pick it up tomorrow....i will not have any more work done by them as they was so horrid to me when i took van back 2 hours later when the warning light came back on....so today i have took it to a diffrent garage who have scanned it and its bringing up egr fault....so being as a new egr is in it....they are going to now start on the ummm dps i think its called...its a 2010 model and its dun nearly 40,000 miles i just need to know if anyone knew wot it might actually be befor i pay out again:)
 
So that is a mk 3 right (i.ve seen mk2's on 2010). 1.3 or 1.9? I have known them come on due to clogged air filters, it's unlikely but not impossible. If you've been to that garage before who knows might be the original. Undo the 3 nuts and take a look if its black its never been changed.

I Had the same problem with my 08 plate 1.3 multijet a couple of years ago.
I was getting fault codes for "EGR Insufficient flow" and traced the problem to a blockage in the inlet manifold.
There's a metal flexy pipe that comes from the EGR valve to the inlet manifold at the back on the top right hand side. At the manifold end of the pipe there is a clamp that holds it to a metal nozzle that is bolted into the inlet manifold. Remove the clamp and bend the pipe away slightly, then undo to two bolts holding the nozzle into the manifold.
If you take the nozzle out of the manifold I'll bet it's completely clogged up with oily gunge. Clean it with carb cleaner, re fit it and reset the fault codes.
I've seen this on two 1.3 Doblo inlet manifolds.
