Sounds like the spring is not seated properly on either the top or bottom mount. Get a torch and check the seating on the mounts. There should be a notch in which the end of the spring sits. If it is not seated correctly, you'll need coil compressors to compress the spring and re-seat it.

It may even be that your spring has cracked, or part of it has broken off completely. If so, you need a new spring.

This point may be completely irrelevent, but before I put my springs/shocks back on the car, mine had swivelled slightly, out of the seatings like you say, I just put some gloves on that gripped well and it swivelled around back into it's seating, I think it's irrelevant because that was because I had lowering springs and they were shorter/easier to swivell

You're right there Dan, lowered springs will have less compression on the seat, unless you use shortened dampers of course. The fact that you needed gloves though suggests that there is still enough tension for the 50mm drop, which is what I was wondering in another thread.

Adam, if it has been sitting there, first try giving the top mount a good soaking with penetrating lubricant. The mk2s have that silly cup on the top mount that just allows ay water to sit there rusting the swivel bushing.

Hi,

I have just recently noticed a problem with my speakers as they cannot reach full potential in bass as they used to, i wasnt sure whether it was the wires connecting into the speakers of the speaker itself, therefore i purchased some brand new mutant speakers and fitted them however having the same problem. Does this meen its the wires connecting into the speakers that are faulty? as i have got some new wires with the speakers, somebody please help me out here.
