Hi guys,

Got a bit of a problem with my 1993 Cinq.

First of all iv got the red warning light that keeps coming on, its in the very top left corner of the warning lights on the dash and it kind of looks like a torch??
So what is this lol, what's it trying to tell me??

Secondly the car is down on power, i need to use twice as many revs to drive and it just doesn't go as fast as it used to! It even stalled when i was idling earlier.

Please help me anyone with any ideas?

Thats the injection light, possible ecu or some sort of sensor fault. Have a diagnostic done.

Other suggestions will be made shortly

possibly could be one of reasons for your lack of power maybe not the injection light though.

When did vehicle last have a service?
 
Hey guys,

Havent had it serviced since i've had it (about 6 months)
But it did go through its MOT a few weeks ago.

I have cleaned up 1 of the spark plugs which seemed very mucky especially compared to the others and it seems to have solved all of the problems (including the warning light), i've bought some new ones to put in over the weekend so i guess time will tell if this has sorted it?

Hey guys,

New spark plugs are in, still no joy.
I'm gonna check all the fuel lines etc to see if i can find anything there as the car is also very juddery. Its trying to work but it feels like its being restricted.

Haven't got myself a manual yet as 2bh the car was free so i wasn't expecting to be spending too much money on it so i'd rather not give it a diagnostics or put it in the garage for a service.

I'll keep you updated
 
Haha yer i no but i got the general idea from my first car (A 41 year old beetle of all things)
I was hoping this would be different being a fiat and all :p

Yerp definitely the next plan, fuel and oil etc..

Any pointers on where to start??
2bh i didn't even know it had a fuel filter! Where is it??

Haha yer i had a look earlier and it is more in the middle, will see if i can pick one up 2moro and get it on, i'm surprised it's actually a bit shiny!
 
Ok, hi guys.
Still not got me fuel filter but it's not that.
It's definitely the spark plugs which leaves me absolutely dumbfounded.
I put my new ones in and for a while it was 100% fine for a while, until the same problem came back again which is what made me think it wasn't the plugs.
Out of curiosity i took them back out again and 2 of them had been pressed together!
I obviously set the gap again and then it was fine for a while until it did it again and again!
Any ideas whatsoever? Whats pushing my spark plugs together??? :(
Any ideas would be great as i've not got a clue now!
 
Well they're the same ones as what were in it before when the problem began, but anyway they are NGK BPR6ES
