I have been thinking about debadging my mk2b... but realised that there will be a indent in the boot from where the badge was... I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they did to get rid of this and how they did it

A bodyshop will smooth it out for you, or, I think a normal mk2 boot fits, and they dont have a badge on the boot, but im not sure about this.

no need for smoothing if its a mk2/b as there is no indent its only the front of a mk2 that has an indent :)

Ahh ok, thanks for that, i didn't know i was just thinking of stuff he could do if there was :)

nope not under any of the badges the punto lettering, fiat lettering or the badge
EDIT :get a pic of ur car to make sure im talking about a mk2
actually is it like mine

His should be the same as yours, as there isnt a badge on the back of the mk2, just the fiat logo and the punto lettering at the bottom.

I belive that mk2 and mk2b boots are different on the 3dr and 5 dr models????

3dr has a straight boot, and 5 dr has like a hump i think so badges might be different but on my mk2 3dr i had no indents or recesses, just warm up and slowly peel away with a credit car, then auto glym tar remover to reove all the excess glue left(y)

uh?
To my knowledge....
Mk2 has no indent on rear at all in terms of behind badges
Mk2b has indent behind the cental FIAT round logo

Yeah this is what I thought too.

I know the mk2 has no indents at all though.

I have a mk2b/Mk3 5dr Active, and can confirm: my boot lid has a huge round Fiat badge with an indent. The front grille also has a round badge, but even if you remove it, the grill itself has a round plate (to support the badge) which doesn't come off. Only way, is to find a debadged 3rd party manufactured grille - which I'm having difficulty finding.

Thats what i thort that mk2 has none cos i done mine, but mk2b has an indent where the cicular fiat badge is because i remember someone on this forum bought a mk2 boot lid from scrappers and debadged that then fitted it too there mk2b.

The only confusing thing is that the member "FIATPUNTOMK2B" has a mk2b 3dr and he debadged his and no indent unless he has a mk2 boot lid which some previous owner has just stuck the circular badger onto therfore having no indent when you removed it.

you are right... mine is a 3dr mk2b and behind the big central Fiat round logo there is an indentation... i can see it with my own eyes... just wondering how i could get rid of it if i debadge it

Mate just go to scrappers get a mk2 boot lid debadge that then fit it to your mk2b direct replacement.

Or second option would be to go to a bodyshop and get then to fill and spray that indent, which maybe a bit costly compared to goin to the scrappers
