General Help! New automatic driver how drive 500L

Hello everyone,

I am a new driver and got only automatic car driving experience. I just got a 2015 fiat 500L pop star and asked many times the dealer said it is just like a normal automatic. However, after I got it and practice, I found it is NOT the same at all. Would like to seek advice on how to drive the car on the basis that I only know how to drive full automatic. Truly appreciated the help.

1. The car won’t creep then how can I control the speed in traffic or turning?
2. How to adjust position and reverse in a low steady speed to park?
3. My home is on an inclined hill, since it has no park mode, how to park my car? I search other threads, Is it in gear 1 when facing uphill and reserve when facing downhill?
4. To start the car on hills, how to prevent it roll back into the cars behind?

I am not sure you have the correct car for you and have been badly let down by the dealership.
Suggest you go back to the dealership that sold the car to you and ask them to explain what they meant when they said it is exactly like a normal automatic-it is not!
If they can't demonstrate how you can use the car to your satisfaction
You may have to try and reject the car for a full refund.

If you got on well with your driving instructor ask for a lesson or two in your car.

You start the car on a hill like you would any car by using the parking/handbrake brake

If youve only ever driven Automatics.. this is likely to be alien

A colleague only drove 2.5 litre autos

Every MOT needed handbrake rebuilds..as it hadnt moved in 12 months :-(

Still supposed 5o use it as part of the driving test on a auto or at least you'd did when family members did it
