Help needed with Bravo HGT

I have had my HGT 147 for 3 years, has ran excellent until now. After driving for approximately 30 minutes the car will completely cut out, no warning nothing. It will turn over freely but will not offer to start until approximately 10 minutes when it will beging to fire on a couple of cylinders but will not take the accelerator, after another 10 minutes it will re-start and run perfect as normal. I have just replaced the fuel filter and crankshaft sensor but no improvement. I have been trying to get local garages to put in on their diagnostic machines but apparently there is a problem with communication. The 147 has a three pin socket and their machines have a multi pin arrangment.
Seems to me this could be temperature related issue but who knows. Any help much appreciated as I cannot afford to be late for work again.

if your local mechanic can not do it and you need the car for work get it to fiat for a dull diag...will be aprox 60 quid but could save you money in the long run...

@ Bill : I took mine to kwik fit as the diag was free but they cudnt do it as like you said its a 3 pin and there machine was a 6 pin.All they managed to test was the lambda sensor which seemed ok,apparantly you need a 3-6 pin connector for it.If you cant find a garage with this,then like has just said,take it to fiat.

Kwiktwits are often pretty clueless even if they have the right equipment.
The other option to taking it to FIAT is to find an Alfa Romeo specialist who can do the same diagnostic but probably cheaper and quicker than an official dealership - having the full chassis number at the ready will help.

lol @ kiwiktwits tbh mate,the did seem a bit useless,they were lookin all over my car 4 the plug and didnt hav a clue were it was till they rang sum1 lol Also wen i got a new cat fitted 6 month ago,had 2 take it back next day as it kept stallin at every junction! got it up on ramps an Useless gits didnt plug lambda sensor in properly,was hangin off
