But there is nothing wrong with the key, no need to look for another key. The ECU is not communicating, that's why IMMO light stays on. If it was the key, you could have connect to ECU and it would even throw an error related to problem reading key code.
That's right. Main problem is i can't connect to the damm ECU

Hello everyone. Yesterday we were checking and we saw that the ECU connector only has two wires. As far as I know, these connectors should have 3 wires, right? Forgive my ignorance. I'll try to upload a photo when I can so you can see it.

Hello Lluis, I have read in the german Barchetta forum that a user had a problem with code light (https://barchetta-forum.de/smf/index.php?topic=23241.10) , the problem was oil in the conector of the Phasevariator.
I also remember that I read somewhere that the ECU and the key code go together, if you change the ECU you must also change the keys.
The ECU conector has only 2 wires and the 3 wire adapter needs to be connected to 12V. I used the program Multiecuscan.

Thank you for your answer. We checked Phasevariator connector and it's clean; also we checked the crankshaft and the camshaft sensors and both are ok too.

That's what i think too. The main problem is we cannot read the ECU in any way. Today we called an ECU specialist for a second opinion and ideas for how we can read the damm ECU.

This summer, my Barchetta also had trouble starting. I had to try many times until the immobilizer light went out and then it would start.
In my case, the immobilizer antenna plug was not making good contact.
From the immobilizer (located on the left knee, next to the fuses) there is a wire covered in fabric that goes to the antenna (a circle around the ignition).

Hello. I checked the connection and it seems ok. Thanks

For the connection to the ECU with Multiecusan, I used a KKL cable and connected to the socket under the passenger footrest, towards the wheel

Yes , i used it. In fact, i can read the ABS and the airbaig Ecus ... but not the main Hitachi ECU. Thanks.

Hello again. I have consulted two ECU specialists and neither has been able to read either of the 2 ECUs. I am starting to lose hope.
Any ideas will be welcomed. Thanks

Hello everyone,

I have a 95 Barchetta that we have rebuilt the engine. The entire rebuilding process has been completed and several old components have been replaced such as the cam opener, the clutch and sensors. Everything is assembled and ready to start, but the car don't start.

When the ignition is turned on, the injection error light and the code key light come on. We have tried to connect the ECU using multiecuscan and KKL cable to check and clear errors, but we are unable to do so. However, we can connect to the airbag and ABS units without problems.
Having ruled out a connection, program or cable problem, we have checked the ECU contacts, wiring and even bought a new ECU to see if this was the problem. The fuel pump has also been checked and it works fine. But nothing has worked.

The car still won't start and we don't know what else we can check.
Any ideas or clues would be welcome because right now, we don't know what else to look at.

Thanks in advance,
Maybe this is an option: https://www.obdii.shop/goods-651-FI...EPQPAvBRHpkRFH9Fc1j0FK6gM3grnivihV56iqVlM46-G

Sorry to butt in on your post but you might be able to help me.

I am looking for the Engine ECU diagnostic port on my 1999 B.

I have checked by the battery and also in the passenger footwell behind the trim panels but cannot even find the ECU.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Your car do not have a standard 16-pin OBD-II port under the dash like more recent cars. It has the small engine diagnostic connector (typically 3-pin) that plugs into the ECU wiring harness.
Where you’ll find it:
On many 1990s Barchettas, this 3-pin engine ECU connector lives under the passenger-side dashboard/floor area (deep in the passenger footwell). You will likely have to remove or pull back the trim panel near the right side speaker or under the glovebox to reveal it.
In some cars the ECU itself is tucked under the passenger dash or just inside the engine bay firewall — either way the diagnostic plug is a small harness plug, not a big OBD socket.

The connector is often a small black plug with only a couple of wires (white/black), so it can easily blend in with other wiring unless you’re looking for it specifically.
Here’s an example image of what the ECU connector can look like on a Barchetta (though only one end is shown):

I have checked the passenger footwell and the ECU is not there. I have found the airbag and ABS plugs so I am familiar with the type of plug.

In your second photo is that area on the bulkhead in the centre of the car under a black plastic cover as I haven't looked there yet
