Help needed fitting dials?

I got custom dials from Ben B, and when I was removing the needles, the pins underneath them came off as well. Is this supposed to happen? (1.4 sx by the way). The pin never came off on the speedo needle, and that seems to work okay, but the rest of them are useless, and they always stick or make no movement etc. It seems impossible to get them to work again?

I had this problem with mine, and now my fuel gauge is always a 1/4 tooo full :(
so are your needles not working at all now??? there's no movement in them at all???

When I've fitted/Refitted mine the speedo one was the only one that didn't come off easily. The other all pulled away by hand. I have found though that when the needles are puched back on a bit too far the y don't move freely until they're pulled slightly away from the surface.
I don't know what else to suggest. try and see how the attach and get them to sit back where they came from. There has to physically be a way off pushing them back where they came from.

If it really doesnt work again, you may have to get a replacement clock set: they often come up on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=10382&item=4554746647&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
but surely there has to be a way of getting them going again.

I bought mine of Ben and they came off (with a lil man power) but there ok minus the fuel gauge, which is my fault anyway, jus need to adjust them! but the instructions that came were perfectly clear on the right procedure of how to replace the dials

Well the speedo and revs seem ok, I think i will be able to sort them out, but the fuel and temp just seem so tempermental (dunno how u spell that word lol), that every time I put it on they don't move, so I push it a bit further then they stick. I'm sure I'll sort it out hopefully, I wasn't blaming you Ben, the dials look wicked by the way. Can anyone tell me if the pins under the needles should have come off with the needles or not??

I'm trying to think now...

I think the fuel & temp did come away with the pins, the Speedo & Revs pins stayed in.

I seem to remember somethiing the same happening with mine. Try plugging the unit in with the 'glass' missing(so you can still get to the needles) and pulling them just a tad away from the surface. they may be rubbing slightly against the surface of the dial. Does anything need trimming away from the centre holes of any of them?

Well the dials are not meant to be played with so at the end of the day its a risk you need to take to fit the dials.

The lockwood dials go over the needles as the needles are precision instruments and taking the needles off is very dodgy and something you musnt do.

Ben I had got them all working near enough, then I went to put the cover over the dials and the needles that were pointing down, were in the way, so I put the 5mph and 500rpm pins back on to hold the needles in position, now they don't work again! Do I need the 5mph 500rpm pins there?

Yeah, you do! Without them you can't get the cover on! I tried that myself!
I'd say just try it again! It should work next time hopefully!

I think the unit is knackered. The needles used to spring back to zero wen u moved them, now they just stay where they are wen u move them lol.

If I got a new unit wat would I do about the mileage on it?
