Just ran through a dummy quote and if you have done pass plus should be able to get it under £2000 with NUD -

used all average details tho - so if you live in London, Birmingham or Manchester forget it

Hi,

Im 18 with a 1.4sx - with one years NCB, nearly one year driving. Its £997 third party fire and theft with a £250 excess. It was £1200 before my NCB kicked in. In comparison is was £100 more to insure may bravo this year than insuring my previous car which was a G reg 1.0 Citroen AX.!

When I was 18 trying to get insured on a 1.4sx everyone was quoting around £1600. I then got quoted £950 fully comp but with my pass plus by Kwik-Fit insurance. I think this is the number for them: 0870 050 2222. No online quotes. Worth a try mate

Try Herts

Try Herts (HIC) on 01279506090.
They're always a winner. Every year i try and find better but i never can.
They will cover any cosmetic mods you like at no extra cost, just boots up ur excess i think.

I am 18 but I have no NCB, I drive a 1.4sx and my insurance is £1500 with tesco, I am second person after my mum, why not try this, why pay more for no claims bonus when you don't see any significant changes until ur 25. My mum has no NCB either.

Try and go second person, better still if one of ur parents has some NCB but unfortunately my dad crashes all the time.

In the first I'm going to do pass plus as well to get it down in the future.

when i was your age i was with a broker called wilsons. they always got me the best price. that was until i became a student, then endsleigh got me the best quote!

I Remember...

I paid £1500 for 9 months Third Party F&T on a Fiat Tipo 1.4 when I was 17!!

One thing I would say is not to go on web quotes, phone them up- in the extreme cases (young drivers/modified motors etc.) they're quite often very different prices.
