Hi again all ive had a problem with hlx recently basicly the problem is that the clucth pedal on my car at times i go to it and it has sunk right down i then lift it back up and it seems to be pretty much ok but then on the odd occasion it wont change straight into another gear i have to put it in neutral for a few seconds then into the gear. also the bite point for the car is horrible taking it up to where it should be the car shudders like its gonna stall i then give it some gas and it seems ok.any ideas cost to repair etc please anyone cheers in advance Danny.
 
Slave Cylinder ? If it is, about £25 for the part and about 30 mins to fit, two person job (topping up fluids), cost me about £60/70 to have it done on my 1.6

Hi,

This sound like a post from yesterday. I used to own a Tipo and had the same thing. The clutch pedal would happlily sink to the floor, but would work OK if you lifted it with your toes. This went on for a few weeks until I had a free weekend to fix the thing. Fortunately this happened just as it was starting to get really bad. So you haven't got long!! Don't forget that the clutch and breaks share the reservoir so keep it topped up until you get it fixed. If it is the slave cylinder there will be a sticky mess of fluid around it.

It was easy to replace. For a 1.9TD Tipo it cost £28 a year ago. You will need somebody else to help bleed the system , but this is much, much easier than bleeding the brakes. On the Tipo the slave cylinder is below the battery, but I don't know where it is on the Bravo, as I haven't looked.

Don't worry, you won't lose your brakes. The clutch cylinder is fed from the top of the reservoir, so it can't empty through the clutch. Even Fiat designers aren't that stupid! :)

hi all just been up to my local garage he said that it was my slave gone and the part and fitting it would be 75quid cheers all.danny
