Ive got a 2000 W 1.2 80sx bravo- great car except fot the fact that tonight pulling out on a busy junction the car got to 3000rpm then the clutch stopped biting. the car is now stuck at the side of the road and i cannot get the clutch to bite and eggage the gear at all!! The cars clutch has not shown any sign of needing work done, and this incident was the first issue Ive had since getting the car. Does anybody know what this could be, or more to the point how much this could cost me lol??

what is happening? does the pedal feel like normal or is it lose and flimsy/sticks to the floor?

did it make a pop or did it just feel like there was something grinding along with the noise?

maybe a drive shaft?

if it was in gear, (You were pulling away so i assume it was) and it just stopped then it sounds like the output shaft has broken, Driveshaft would have made a right racket

Nah it was pulling out at a junction it got to 2000rpm n then wouldnt go above- i thought the wheels were spinning but i then realised it was just revving and making a grinding noise.

Spoke to a garage today anyway who told me the car needs a complete new clutch- so it looks like the bravos gonna be replaced soon with something less italian lol cos I bought the car for £600 and the clutch repair alone is going to cost me £400 minimum

400 minimum for a clutch?!
buy the clutch yaself, get on ebay or get surfin tinternet...Im sure u must know a decent cheap garage to fit it??

I would get a garage to supply and fit the clutch, so that you have some warranty. If they fit one you supply if something goes wrong it'll be ALOT harder to find whos to blame.

now ive always bort the part myself and got some1 to fit it,cus if it packed in for wot ever reason,id go straight back 2 the garage and find out whats gone on..If it ended up bein the part at fault, then id be onto the place i got it from...
Works out cheaper as garages always charge more for supplying

Ive found a garage supplyin and fitting the part for £350 so the italian supercar will be back on the road next week!! :D:D

That includes £60 for towing the car there though- it was the cheapest quote I got- some places were quoting a hell of a lot more (100% more in 2 of them)

Went to collect the car today- clutch is finally fixed.
However now I'm told the car is unsafe to drive as some joint holding the suspension on has worn to the point that the suspension is hanging off. Thats another £75!!

Now more ****ing bad news

Gearbox is gone- so need a new one of those as well.

Givin that the car is a 2000 W plate- is it worth fixing givin that Ive already paid for a new clutch, joint, and now going to have to pay for a gearbox???
