I'm fitting a tow bar to my Multiwagon today and I just came across a connector behind the rear bumper. I've attached a photo of it, can someone tell me what it would normally be used for? Parking sensors maybe?

If it's a 6 pin connector, it's probably for connecting the parking sensors (if fitted) to the control unit.

Only other thing that would be back there is for a tow bar but that would need more wires than in your connector.

This is the parking sensor connector.

Sorry to knick your thread Shadeyman. I'm hoping you can help me with a couple of things, I will hopefully be getting around to fitting my tow bar soon and I have been reading up on here about removing the bumper and couldn't find a clear cut answer. Could you please tell me where all the fixings are for removing the bumper?

Also in your picture at the start of this thread I can see that it looks like you completely removed the boot lining panel on the left, could you also please explain how to remove this?

Cheers

3 x Hex headed(10mm) screws underside of the bumper.

2 x Cross-Head screws in each rear wheel arch.

1 x Cross-Head screw and 1 x Allen(5mm) screw each side fixing the bumper to the rear quarter. (Access is gained after removing the 2 x Cross-Head screws in each rear wheel arch).

2 x Allen(5mm) screws behind each light cluster. (Access is gained after removing the rear light clusters).

1 x Allen(5mm) screws below each light cluster.

I removed them in the order I listed them.

If you look close you'll notice the boot lining is still in place, I only removed the Subwoofer, not the lining.

Thanks for the details on removing the bumper.

As for this, my mistake. I didn't know you had a subwoofer in the boot. It looked like the lining was removed. As I said, my mistake.
