HELP!? Fiat 1.2 yr 2000 mk2 punto blue key problms

hey all,

i own a 1.2 mk 2 year 2000 punto and i am having major problems with it.The car wont start on the key and key light is on.we had a diagnostic code reader on it and they say we need a key the key is not "speaking" to the ECU.

how can we reprogramme the key or reprogramme the a new key.

as far as i am aware i am definate this year of punto did NOT come with the red key.
all i have is a blue key.the car is a very very basic model,no central locking no electric windows etc.

any one come across this problem before?or any one no what the best thing to do is?

please help i want my car to work

mk2 and mk2b have the Key code 2 System
So no Red Key

And It means you have a Punto Mia with No extra's

as for the car Not speaking to the Key
Could be 1 - the antenna has died / Not connected
2 - the Chip has lost its sequence
3 - The Immboliser has just gone funny

so you dont think its the key?
well to be honest my antenna has been "repaired" or soldered so it wouldnt suprise me if its that,going to go ancaster now and try get one.
in regards to the other issues,
if the chip has lost its sequence how do we cure this?
i didnt realise that a car with such a low spec had an immob,how do you go abour rectifying this?

AH! if the antenna has been repaired -then i'd be looking at that first
probably better getting a new One or one off a scrappy car

And Even with it been a low spec - its Fiat Immbo system that they use on all there cars now
Might be better with newer cars like the GP and new 500's not sure tho

It uses a rolling sequence of codes - not sure if it can loose it 100% or but im sure the Immbo can pick up its code and just still start but leave light on

Anyway - i'd Check the connection to the anntenna first - and see if you can get it start that way
